Carver is the most lethal and twisted of the Adair empire men. He has no clue how to control his dark side and the idea of having to “hide” himself from the woman he is beginning to see as his is something he can’t have. Meadow is a very innocent young lady who happens to be caught in the middle of a nightmare. Carver is trying his best to protect Meadow from all the dangers surrounding her, but she is so hurt by all the lies she has been told all her life that she can’t trust anyone...including Carver. Carver let’s her have her space but in doing so he also gives room for someone else to come in and hurt Meadow once again.     • So Jealous of Meadow Mine!
Have you ever read one of those series that your waiting on bated breath for the next release only to binge read the next book and impatiently wait again for the next release? Well, the Adair Empire is that series for me, and KL just keeps sucking me into the dark world with each release. Carver has a special place in my heart because he was the scariest one, but the way that he is and reacts to Meadow just melts me. To see such a big man want to do anything to protect and give his woman, even from his darker side is just ugh sigh worthy. I want to be his Mindy Mine lol. Now, I will impatiently wait for Gasping for Air, as I have to see what she has in store for the remaining characters. KL we know you love torturing us while we wait, no worries, I love your kind of torture!! ... show more

Seems like I have been waiting for this book for forever. I have loved Carver since we met him in King. KL Donn didn't disappoint with this book! Carver is so much better than I hoped for! It's no secret that Carver is my favorite in this series with his carving skills. Carver is a dark, disturbed, alpha who is loyal to those he calls family. With his knife, Mercy, he is to be feared. Meadow is a young woman trying to live her life after everything got tipped upside down. I love the chemistry between Carver and Meadow. He's so dark and she's so innocent, the saying "opposites attract" strikes again! I can't wait for the next book in this series!! I'm not sure what KL can do to my emotions that she hasn't already, with this series it's like I'm a hormonal teenager with how quick they change! ... show more

Carver and Meadow's book took the intensity up a notch but then Carver is a force to be reckoned with. Meadow's sweetness is the perfect balm for Carter and his devotion is limitless. I was desperate for these two to get their happy ever after, they both deserved that so much. The stories just keep getting better and better and that is saying a lot. This series has made it onto my re-read list, it is just that good. I can't wait to dive into the next book! ... show more

Nicely done! Carver was all that and more, we knew he was a Sadistic beast that had a thirst for blood ans pain but it wasn't till he met Meadow did he realize he was drowning and she was his light lighting the way back to her, love it💗💗💗

What can I say about this book. It was and wasn't what I expected. Carver goes above and beyond with Meadow. Nothing or no one is going to stand in his way. He was afraid she would not accept him for who he truly is. Yes it took something horrible to make her realize Carver is exactly what she needs in her life. Meadow is the light to his dark, the tin to his yang. Yes there is a little cliffhanger, but as in all the books in this series the story in the couple is about is complete. K is really good at putting a really good teaser for the next book and it's enough for you to crave the best to in line. ... show more

This series just keeps getting better with each book! I am so sad that it's almost over. Carver was everything I expected plus so much more. He has taken the place of my favorite in this series so far. I loved Meadow and I think they are the perfect balance for each other. Never thought I would see a soft side of Carver even when he found his woman. You just can't help but get sucked in to the storyline of this series and all of the characters. Each book makes me more and more anxious for the final book. I have a feeling that Grasping For Air is gonna knock me on my ass and I for one can't wait. ... show more
