Description

Cartier Timmons and Monya White were born to teenage mothers who were also best friends. At 15, Cartier formed her own crew aptly named the Cartier Cartel. The main and only vision of the crew; Cartier, Monya, Bam, Lil Momma, and Shanine was to do petty crimes in order to wear the flyest gear. While Monya loves boys, clothes, and money (in that order), Cartier is tired of the petty boosting to keep a few dollars in her pockets. Always wise beyond her years, Cartier observes how the corner boys hustle drugs and figures her crew could do the same. Cartier realizes too late that her and her crew are in more trouble than they can handle. Once a rival drug-hustler gets murdered, Cartier's Cartel will need to make a life-altering decision. • CRAZY!!!!
Format: Mass Market Paperback
Cartier Cartel Book Review -July 9 So far I have only read the first 13 chapters and they were hella good.I can't believe all that has happened since the book started.I can't believe that Trina (Cartier's mother) is pregnant at her age.Was shocked that Cartier and her crew turned on Shorty Dip and the they all stomped her and her girls out that day.Was shocked to know that the crew moved up from boosting to selling weed then dope. Then on top of that for Cartier to end up with who Monya wanted to be with, then when Monya got disrespected in front of Cartier and Ryan was crazy to me.Then for Bam to be beaten almost to death was crazy and then no one say anything but that is wat happens in the hood. But glad Cartier and Monya got payback on his ass cause he deserve that and Bam might need that closure. Was shocked that the other to girls decided to leave the crew after wat happened. So can't wait to get into the rest of the book -July 10 I didn't think this book could get any crazier.Crazy how Jason got put in the middle of this stuff and never turned on Cartier and her crew.Couldn't believe that the whole Cartel got brought into the police department and then got locked up for the murder of Donnie. Was surprise that Shanine didn't turn on Cartier like Lil Mama did.I couldn't believe she did that but then again I could because its payback.Wat really shocked me is that Cartier took the rap for the crew so that Monya wouldn't have to be in jail no more. Then I was pissed when Monya stopped coming to visit Cartier and n that the crew got back together and that they was back hugging that block after Cartier is taking the fall for everyone.Glad that Cartier and Jason are a couple now and that Cartier finally gave the boy a chance.happy that Jason and Cartier is getting married and will be happy together now. This is getting crazier and crazier that Jason couldn't keep his dick in his pants at all,to get a stripper pregnant and then to make her have an abortion and then get Monya pregnant a second time killed me and Cartier I thought Jason was better then that but I guess not.Shocking to know that Monya got her ass whipped by Cartier and then they had a heart to heart, and then for them to sleep to crazy blew my mind.Im surprised that Cartier actually picked up her and the baby's things and moved out of the house with Jason.Kinda glad she moved back in with her husband to give their baby girl a life she didn't have when she was younger.Wish Monya and Shanine wouldn't have went on that drug run and I can't believe Ryan is the one that killed Shanine and made Monya brain dead.I hope Jason gets him good and I'm glad Cartier decided to raise Jason jr as her own.Deff can't wait to read the second book ... show more

  • LOVED!!!
Format: Mass Market Paperback
This was a great book that I am so glad I picked up. Cartier Timmons is the epitome of a real, hood gangsta chick. I love the was that the author made her even more real by not glamorizing her. No "green eyes, silky hair, almond skin" unrealistic crap, but 100%real. Her mother being a teen mother who still wanted to be young was something I think that any real hood person could relate to. Everybody knows one. This book was a page turner for me from beginning to end. Cartier had more loyalty than most men and it shows the dynamic of how freinds get jealous and betrayal is real. This story pulls you in and makes you want to read part two immediately. I ordered this book for my husband when he was in jail and he as well everyone he let read it rated it a five star too.OFFICIAL!!! ... show more

  • Friends til the end
Format: Paperback
Cartier Timmons forms her crew "the Cartier Cartel" as a young teen. Cartier along with her BFF Monya and friends Lil Momma, Bam and Shanine form the crew to start getting money. Tired of going to bed hungry and looking like homeless chicks, the girls start boosting to get fly gear and make quick money. After many arrests for shoplifting the Cartel grows tired of boosting. Cartier then decides they should "hug the block" to make more money with less risk....or so they think. The male drug dealers don't like the idea of chicks hustling on their corners and they will do what they have to do to teach the Cartel the game is no joke. After someone ends up dead, Cartier realizes her and her Cartel may be in over their heads. Things really get wild from this point on as the Cartel starts to crumble. Will friendships last? Secrets will be revealed and DRAMA is sure to pop off in the pages of ths great read!! 5 stars! I am hoping there is a sequel to this one! ... show more

  • The High Cost of Being The Boss
Format: Paperback
At the tender age of 15 Cartier Timmons was tired of going without so her and her friends formed the Cartier Cartel using boosting as a way to make much needed money. Although the crew evolved into the chicks to see for the hottest merchandise Cartier had bigger aspirations. She takes the girls from robbing the racks to hugging the block. But when a rival drug dealer decides to show the Cartier Cartel that slanging is a man's job a violent confrontation leaves one of the Cartel members clinging to life and the rival dealer dead. As the leader who put the crew in harm's way Cartier's guilt leads her to take responsibility at a far greater price than she ever imagined. But while she's paying the cost to be the boss her world literally unravels. The Cartier Cartel's storyline was engaging but what made it an outstanding read was it's character development, which can easily be viewed as the girls made the transformation into adulthood. Also the realism displayed through characters like Jason and Cartier's mother, Trina, who both were allowed to make mistakes that taught them valuable lessons. Even the love/hate relationship that blossomed into a love/love relationship between two of the crew members although surprising it allowed the storyline to go in an entirely different direction. Proving that Nisa Santiago is definitely an author at the top of her game. ... show more
