  • A Beautiful, Soul-Stirring Love Story
Format: Kindle
Reel by Kennedy Ryan pulled me in from the very first page. The story is powerful, emotional, and deeply romantic. I loved the rich characters, especially the strength and vulnerability of the main leads. The writing is poetic, and the way Kennedy blended Black Hollywood history with present-day love was inspiring. This book made me feel seen and reminded me of the beauty in real love and purpose. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • And she did it again!!!
Format: Kindle
Wow, this just became a book I won’t stop recommending. Kennedy Ryan, miss girl you did your big one with this! I honestly do not have words. This book was written so thoughtfully with so much emotion and conviction. I loved Neevah and Canon as main characters and their development throughout the story. The inclusion of the movie script was simply brilliant and they were slotted in the right sections of the book. I literally wish I could give this book 100 stars. This story felt very unique and it sucks you all the way in. I felt like I knew the inner workings of Hollywood! Their love story was so endearing and wholesome. I loved their communication and the fact that Cannon loved her unconditionally and showed her with his actions. His mama raised him right! And Miss Neevah - honey was she fierce, fearless, kind, and generous. You could help but want to know more about her and want her to be successful. I also loved all the side characters - I hope Verity and Monk get a book (wink wink) Bravo! ... show more

Good read with good characters. Neevah as a teenager found out in her senior year that her high school fiance got her older sister pregnant. So instead of staying home to be with Brandon, she took her scholarship and left N. Carolina not once looking back or forgiving her sister. Neevah lands a leafs role in a movie produced by Canon Holt which sparks flies. Neevah has lupus which flares up from discord to systematic. It takes a toil on her body, her hair and mind. She gets worse and needs a kidney. The movie stops, Canon and Neevah attractions gets serious and Neevah needs a kidney. Her sister is a match. Of course a lot of drama, forgiveness and understanding and therapy has to be dealt with first. Read on. LOVETOREAD ... show more

  • Kennedy Ryan does it again!!!
Format: Kindle
Kennedy Ryan delivers an unforgettable love story in Reel, a beautifully written novel that captures the essence of true love while tackling deep, emotional themes. This five-star read is more than just a romance—it explores infidelity, forgiveness, illness, and the resilience of the human spirit. The character development in Reel is exceptional. The protagonists are complex, well-drawn, and undeniably real, making their journey all the more compelling. Ryan’s writing is both poetic and powerful, immersing readers in a story that is equal parts heart-wrenching and uplifting. With its breathtaking storytelling and deeply emotional core, Reel is a must-read for romance lovers who crave stories that are both passionate and profound. Kennedy Ryan once again proves why she is a master of the genre, leaving readers with a love story that lingers long after the final page. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • The audiobook is an experience you don't want to miss!
I want more! I need more! I need, want, Kennedy Ryan to actually write the biopic at the center of Reel. Or let's just get Reel onto the big screen, that would work, too. Please and thank you. I was lucky enough to have the chance to listen to the audiobook of Reel early, and let me just say, if you're debating listening to this one, DO IT! If Reel never makes it to the big screen, this is the next best experience. And it was an experience. Eboni Flowers, Jacobi Diem, and Nicole Small truly brought this story to life. And the vocal performance by April Christina- CHILLS!!! They are all new to me narrators and believe you me, I'll be seeking them out again, that is for sure. There was one scene in the book between Nevaah and her best friend, Takira, and I swear it was like actually listening to 2 different people, not the same person just changing voices for each character. I honestly felt like I was eavesdropping on a conversation between friends. Eboni Flowers was marvelous as Neevah, she more than did the character justice. She gave life to her, shared her vulnerabilities and her strengths with us, and made me wish she was real. Jacobi Diem, he is Canon. Talk about wishing someone was real! What a wonderful, strong, caring, dedicated man. He loves with every bit of himself, which was no more apparent than when he would talk about his mom. And even more so when it came to Neevah. He never waivered in his love, no matter what obstacles they faced. One of my favorite things about this audiobook was that Dessie Blue was given her own voice, both in the story and with a separate narrator. I loved getting the glimpses into her life. It made the story within the story all that more special. And as I mentioned above, hearing April Christina sing, wow, wow, wow. Reel is another mesmerizing story from the incredibly talented Kennedy Ryan. It gripped me from the prologue and left me wanting to spend many more hours lost in its story. ... show more

I love this book. The lines, such as “for a minute let me fall”, gripped my heart. This was just a beautiful love story. The characters are so interesting and the story engaging. I share the same diagnosis as Neevah, so was easily drawn to her character
