I have had some bad experiences with mascara wands. Before now, the worst has been during the 'comb' trend a few years ago where it was essentially like smearing on the mascara with a spatula because the teeth of the comb were inadequate for lashes. That one didn't actually hurt my lash health, so it is still better than this Carslan Light-Lengthening Mascara. Included is a picture of the comb. Hopefully anyone looking at it will see the problem. The way the bristles are staggered it behaves like velcro hooks. Translation: If it touches lashes, it grips them and rips them out. I have a little bald spot on my left lash-line that has taken a couple of weeks for the lashes to start growing out again after testing this one. I have never seen anything like it before. I thought it was maybe supposed to be used in a different way, so I tried a few different angles and techniques, but as long as the wand is used the bristles grip the lashes and don't let go. I can't recommend this one to anyone. Not a good value unless you are trying to remove your lashes anyway.

This mascara is decent and works well if you’re going for a more natural, everyday look. It adds length and definition without making lashes look heavy or clumpy. I like that it applies smoothly and doesn’t flake throughout the day. If you’re looking for a dramatic mascara that gives your lashes thickness, length and volume to your lashes I would skip this mascara but if you prefer subtle enhancement and gives just length then this is perfect for you. I will say the packaging is really nicely made, the mascara tube itself feels/looks luxurious and has some weight to it. Overall, it’s a good option for natural makeup days.

This mascara made my lashes go flat unfortunately. I have pretty straight eyelashes and use an eyelash curler to get my lashes to curl. I typically use a waterproof formula for that very reason and I thought because this was smudge proof and flake proof, it was also water resistant. Sadly that is not the case. On the positive side, if you already have curly lashes, this would be a fantastic option as the formula definitely helps keeps lashes separated. The mascara also comes off easily with cleanser and water and doesn't require oil cleansing which may be a positive for some.

I have short asian lashes, mascaras can be very hit or miss for me, and i tend to like tubing mascaras with fibers, but even those aren't guaranteed results. After using this with a curl primer, I just didn't see results I liked. My lashes looked separated, but not fluttery, lengthened or thickened. Results are truly light, I couldn't really coat this on for more dramatic effect. I even tried layering this with the CARSLAN Double Extension Curling Mascara, and my lashes look a bit better, however I rather have a single one and done mascara. Maybe the formula needs to dry out a bit before I like it more. I like the design concept of the brush, it's a bit too rounded wide for me.

I try a lot of mascara products, always searching for one that works decently on mature eyelashes. This Carslan lengthening mascara had been on my list to try for a while, so I finally gave it a shot. The color is a true black. There is no odor, which is great. The formula is not especially thick. I did not need to blot the wand before application. It went on smoothly and without crumbly bits. Maybe 3 swipes to coat my lashes. Its not a mascara for fuller lashes, but longer lashes. I feel it defined mine and made them appear elongated. I also thought they looked more defined. It wore well all day. I did have to use micellar water in addition to my normal cleanser to remove it at end of day. I think its a decent mascara, and would recommend it.

This is a nice lightweight mascara. The brush bristles coat my lashes really good. I can apply to my top and bottom lashes. It does flake much, depending on how many coats I apply. Overall, it’s a decent mascara.
