I purchased these roasting sticks primarily for their extendable feature, allowing for convenient collapse during storage—a perfect replacement for my fixed-length sticks that posed storage challenges due to their length. The included drawstring bag serves as an excellent portable storage solution. One notable feature is the protective tips, effectively covering the sharp points when not used. Plus, they included some spares just in case they are lost, which is thoughtful. We've been using these sticks for nearly two years in April, and they have been reliable. We utilize them during camping trips and around our home firepit, finding their extended length sufficient to keep a safe distance from the fire while roasting marshmallows or hotdogs. The rotating feature is nice, making it easier to turn food for an even browning. We have used these items for a few months now. So far they have held-up ok, but I am worried about longevity because of their low weight. Pro's-The telescoping feature has worked really well for roasting marshmallows and hotdogs. I love how you can easily rotate the item by spinning the handle. It color variety allows you to assign a stick to each member of your party. Cons-The item feels lightweight and I worry about their longevity. The prongs on the end of the sticks are too close together which makes it hard to roast more than one marshmallow at a time. (I think every s'more needs at least 2 marshmallows) ... show more

We have some 3 ft heavy-duty roasting poles that we use with our home fire pit, but are too cumbersome and long for car camping. Our retractable sticks were lighter and more compact, did the job, but they were flimsy and had to be held "just so" in order for the mallow or veggie dog not to fall into the fire. These sticks are the melding of the good parts of both - heavy duty and retractable. the different colors are fun, the u-shape tong are spaced nicely for two to four mallows, or a stable hold onto a veggie dog or sausage. The metal is thick, so they are cut on an angle, making the edges sharp for easy placement. They are a bit heavier than our old flimsy retractables, but still compact. I am hopeful that the red nubs that are on the ends for protection from the sharp edge don't get lost, but since we also received a handy carrying bag, there will still be some protection. I love these roasting sticks. They are really sturdy. They are made really well. I like that they extend to 34". The best part is the color wheel that has two features. The first is that they are different colors so everyone can tell which roasting stick is theirs by the color. The second feature is that you can turn the color wheel with your thumb and it will turn the stick as you are roasting your marshmallow, hot dog, etc. The bag it comes in to hold the sticks is great and each roasting stick has little red caps to keep on while you are NOT roasting because the points are sharp which they should be. Also, there is also a little bag with extra red caps just in case you may loose some caps. I bought one 6 pack and love them so much I bought another 6 pack. We still have all of them, none have broken, come with safety rubber tips, can hold a decent amount of weight, have a handy carrying case, and people always end up using ours when theirs fail.
