We got this car for our son for Christmas. This is probably one of the fastest RC cars he has own. It was super fun to play with…. Until the front wheels stopped turning due to worn cheap plastics in the inside. Such a bummer… he only got to play with for about a month as it sat for a while we were moving. Bought this for the holiday . 4 days post Christmas and it dies after 15 min of use or less. And has been shutting on and off randomly. It’s only been played with for 2 full days . Spend the money on a nice quailty one , because this isn’t it. And you cannot return it . It has a battery with charge time of thirty minutes and, is rechargeable. Your child can play in dirt, or in the sand or in the rocks. This RC/Car has LED lights which are amazing to look at. The media could not be loaded. My wife, daughter and I have been on an RC car kick of late, and we've been having a ton of fun with them. We've collected a bunch of these relatively inexpensive RC cars, and go out and use them in our cul-de-sac, or the desert/construction side behind our home. Among these under-$50 RC cars, this RC car has by far the most "zip" or speed of any of them. It's also got a pretty good range, probably the longest range (by a hair) of those other cars we've been using as well. The battery is on the easier side to change out as well, and the top light bar looks really cool. Overall, it's a very fun car, and one of our favorites! In this price range, there tend to be a lot of "transformer" type cars, stunt cars, and cars with gimmicky lights and music features. I call them gimmicky, but honestly they can still be fun. This RC car has none of those - it's a pretty straightforward RC car, which gives a little better "performance" in exchange for none of the gimmicks. So with all this high praise, why only 4*? Well there's a two main reasons. The main one is that the added speed comes with a trade-off: the battery dies quickly, usually in 10-12 minutes (faster than the advertised 15), though it starts to lose power after 6 to 8 minutes. It does come with a spare battery, but even with 2 batteries it's a short amount of time you get to use it at full power, and both changing and charging those 3.7v batteries (or whatever the voltage is) is kind of annoying. It's worth noting that we run this RC car in some tougher condtitions, as you can see from the video - often on a dirt construction lot, and that may cause the battery to drain quicker. But we also run it in our paved cul-de-sac, and the battery dies fastest among all of our RC cars regardless. Also of note is that the light bar on top (which does look cool!) broke off on our third day of use. The car is quite lightweight, so combined with it's speed, it sometimes will flip (you can also see in the video that it sometimes has trouble with hills on uneven surfaces, simply turning back around even without me moving the wheel controls lol, we assume due to the weight). Anyway, one one of the times it flipped, the light bar started to dangle, and we realized it's only held with a thin dot/point of plastic onto the frame, meaning it was extremely fragile at the connection point. And since it has wires running into it to power the lights, it's now kind of just dangling crooked. Why wouldn't I deduct more points then? Because as noted, we run this RC car in pretty tough conditions, and I'm not sure that the bar would break for most people. Also, some super glue will likely do the trick, we just haven't gotten to the store to buy any yet lol. At the end of the day, this car has the most zip and has been arguably the most fun of all the RC cars we've gotten. We've definitely gotten $40 of value from it (in our perspectives) already, and it's probably our favorite RC car. So while I had to go 4* for the reasons mentioned above, we enjoy it quite a bit and would still recommend this to anyone who wasn't worried about the light bar issue, and/or who doesn't mind frequent battery swapping. ... show more
