  • 100% COCONUT BASED CUTTING BOARD & BUTCHER BLOCK OIL | Dont fall for the competitors concoctions! Unlike other plant-based butcher block and cutting board oils on the market, our formula base is 100% coconut derived (most of the cheaper coconut plant-based products contain palm, soy or even mineral oil). Our cutting board oil is made in Canada with a refined coconut oil that doesn't go rancid or sticky. It is also an ingredient used in specialty food production making it food contact safe.
  • HYDRATES & CONDITIONS | Designed to penetrate deep into the fibers of the wood to hydrate and conditions. Prolongs the life of wood and bamboo kitchenware by preventing cracking due to water damage or over drying.
  • WILL NOT GO RANCID | Unlike common kitchen oils like flax, canola, olive and linseed, our products are made through a solventless refinement process which removes the long chain fatty acids, resulting in a product that will not go rancid or smell bad over time.
  • MAKES CLEANING EASY | Made with a proprietary blend of light essential oils that help to naturally eliminate odours, while not transferring onto food. Prevents food from drying and getting stuck on the wood and makes cleaning easier.
  • THE TRUSTED CARON FAMILY GUARANTEE | Our family has been formulating and manufacturing 100% natural products in Canada since 1999 Our company is family owned and operated with a top priority being the satisfaction of our customers. I am confident that you & your family will enjoy the products just as much as we do. If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied, well refund your money! - Stephen Caron, President

  • Works well, looks great, goes a long way. ** UPDATE** - still 5 stars 10 months running
Size: 8 oz
I have used tung oil in the past, but was interested in something different that was less 'surface'. I'm re-coating 3 cutting boards and about a dozen wooden utensils, all of which have had some kind of coating in the past: tung oil, vegetable oil, or, partially, the oils encountered in cooking. But they were beginning to show signs of needing a revitalization. Thinks I like about this: a) you can oil, wipe off excess (if you don't have time to leave it longer), and use immediately. If something needs a touch up, I don't have to wait 24 hours or so to use it, as with tung oil. b) no nut allergies c) a little goes a long way. I have coated all of the boards, front and back, at least 4 times now, and the utensils 2 times. I've used about 1/4 of a bottle. It's taking very little now. d) It looks like the wood is soaking the stuff in. I oil it. I see 'wet surface'. I come back hours later. The surface is no longer wet looking (but not dry either - in between like 'damp' maybe, just with oil, not water. e) no bad odors. f) easy to clean off hands; just like cooking oil would be The one thing that is a bit different from my other experiences (except for using cooking oil on one of the boards previously) is the board surface retains just a very very slight oily feeling. Maybe like picking up a piece of a pecan or walnut meat. Not a bad thing at all, just a little different. It feels like the wood has absorbed the oil and it's there just on as well as under the surface protecting it. It feels like it holds it in but when the outer layer gets dry (from washing it repeatedly) it has a reserve beneath to re-coat slightly from inside out! Water beads up on them. I do NOT wash wood in dishwasher. Hand washing is easy, but unlike tung oil, it feels like a slight bit of the oil is washed away each time. But either not much, or it is replenished from inside the wood. Definitely doesn't automatically dry it out, but I can see where periodic re-dressing will be necessary. Again, not a bad thing. Tung oil doesn't wash off, but it 'cuts' off. Slices through the tung oil finish open up wood that has not been oiled. With this - you can just wipe it on, as opposed to: taking it to the garage, sanding it, putting tung oil on, waiting 24 to 48 hrs (or more) for it to dry before use. You can touch up very easily. I've not used it in conjunction with waxes of any kind. Just the oil. It's a little different approach than what I've done in the past, but I'm liking what I've seen so far. Only 2 weeks into the show, but with the heavy use they've had during this time, I don't anticipate things changing much. I think over time the boards & utensils will become more and more saturated and will get better and better. ===== 10 month update ==== 2019 Feb 16; I bought this in April of 2018. Yes! I'm pretty conservative with compliments and praise, unless something really deserves it. This is one of those products that actually does what it says and does it well. This is DEFINITELY the BEST STUFF I've ever used on WOODEN kitchen items. I followed the instructions: Oiled them all every day for a week; then once / week for a month; and now (more or less) once a month; or more precisely, when they start looking a little dry or water not beading, which is approximately once a month, but some things get more use & more washing than others. All of the cutting boards & wooden utensils look and function the best they every have. This is without a doubt what I will replenish (I'm still on 1st bottle!; Looks like it will last me about 18 months or 2 years) and WILL BE STANDARD FOR MY WOODEN KITCHEN WARE. ... show more

  • Cutting board oil
Size: 8 oz
I like the fact there is no strong chemical smell so my home didn't reek for hours. I first used this oil on my bamboo cutting board and it worked well. The oil soaked in right away and left my board with a nice feel. I liked it so well I then used it on my wood counter tops. Loved it! Made the wood look a rich color again and felt much smoother! Great product! Thank you! ... show more

  • Great, cutting board oil
Size: 8 oz
This oil did a great job on my old cutting board. I’ve had the board for many years. After using the oil I decided to go ahead and purchase the wax also. After using both the oil and the wax, my board looks great. I’ve also used both on all my wood handled knives that have faded over the years. This oil does a great job at reconditioning, and the wax helps protect the wood. ... show more

  • Natural, safe, nice-smelling oil for wood cutting boards
Size: 8 oz
Docked a star for the bottle, which leaks like crazy on the counter and shelf after use because of the way the top opens to dispense. If this came in a better bottle with, say, a dropper or squeeze-bottle cap (like, say, Sriracha uses on their hot sauce) ... some sort of non-leaking top ... I'd have to give it 5 stars. I use this on my new cutting block along with the wax and it works very well... is not sticky, smells really good and doesn't contain mineral oil. I also used it to revitalize a small and much abused cutting board (which I unwittingly put in dishwasher, a big no-no) and the board just drank up the oil like crazy... I think I can save it! It's also easy to apply (they suggest a microfiber cloth, but rubbing it into the clean dry board with my hands works possibly even better (and my hands seem to like it too). Edit: After going through a bottle and a half of this (way too fast), I ended up switching to John Boos cutting board oil, which I would bet contains food grade mineral oil, and doesn't say "all natural" on the label... because although Caron & Doucet is nice, it isn't as robust on the board and a bit too pricey for constant use. Having done a little research on the alleged dangers of mineral oil in the diet, I found that *food grade* mineral oil is approved for, pretty near to perfectly safe for, and recommended for use on wood cooking and prep tools. ... show more

  • Wonderful

This is what I use on all my wooden cutting boards and spoons, anything made of wood that touches food. I know of nothing else like it. It is excellent.

  • Goodbye Wesson Oil....This Oil is Exactly What I Needed for My Cutting Boards!
Size: 8 oz
Have been using vegetable oil to condition my cutting boards for as long as I can remember. Not terrible (b/c it is edible), but probably not the best. Just sprung for this oil and I like it very much. It is less viscous than vegetable oil so it spreads more easily. It penetrates much better than vegetable oil, IMO. I used it on all my cutting boards and all my trusty wooden cooking spoons. It does darken the wood a bit--but in some cases that was temporary. Not a big deal for me. I spread it on and then let my items sit out on a towel until the oil was all absorbed and the surface was no longer tacky (maybe an hour or so). Very happy with how this oil performs. It has a very light scent--barely noticeable. ... show more
