  • Carlisle Magic Plus Paddle
Color: Sunrise Size: 230 cm
This is an excellent glass shaft paddle at a very good value. I'm a recreational kayaker that gets on the water a few times a month and have one other glass shaft paddle. My other paddle, by West Marine has a locking mechanism for adjustable blade pitch, which I never use. The Carlisle only has a single pitch position where both blades are on the same plane. This is actually the easiest and best way for me, since assembly is straightforward and quick utilizing a spring-lock button. The fitment of the shafts of the Carlisle are smooth and solid, very precise, and no wobble or play. Nothing much 'magic' about it, just a very good paddle. I prefer the fiberglass to aluminum by a long shot. The blades are very tough, as I found out on a tight turning river in fast water when I got a blade stuck between obstacles. It bent way over and bounced right back with no damage. One thing I do recommend, and have on both my paddles are the 'Yakgrips'. A note on the Yakgrips; they tend to ride up or down on the shaft, and my way of securing them is to get a good, large, tie wrap on both sides of the grip, tighten them as tight as you can, and trim the excess with a razor knife to prevent a sharp edge of plastic from scratching your hands. ... show more

  • Great paddle - at any price!
Color: Sunrise Size: 230 cm
I love this paddle! It is lightweight, sturdy, and very comfortable to use. There are 3 holes which allow you to adjust the angles of the blades. I have it set to the middle hole, but a much taller friend tried it and put it on the first hole which put the blades at a better angle. I've used this several times in the ocean and it gave me plenty of power without any blisters. Also, I stayed much drier than with other paddles. Well suited for beginner and intermediate paddlers. This is a great deal for the money - enjoy!! ... show more

  • Quality choice with a great price
Color: Sunrise Size: 230 cm
Very light and sturdy. The connection point has no play in it and is easy to adjust. I experienced no flutter with this during some very heavy rowing through a river current, the intracoastal waterway, and in the ocean. I've experienced no issues with the paddle connection points either. This version has been trustworthy and worth the money. I have another with the aluminum shaft that I'm testing this summer and have had problems with the snap button being stuck too far down the shaft interior. These are stacking up to a Harmony fibreglass paddle well. ... show more

  • mailed in a clear plastic bad thiner than a ziplock bag
Color: Dark Cherry Size: 250 cm
Tried it out in the pool today. I do like this paddle and I am keeping it even though there was damage from shipping ? or maybe it was used ? I don't know. I don't know why they would ship something in such thin cheap plastic. My ziplock bags are thicker than the bag it was shipped in. The top tip on one of the paddles was damaged , the water stopper were destroyed and cheap ,and the pole is scratched up . I realize this revue sound a bit negative but it is very well made a sturdy and a great length, only reason I'm giving it a 4 is because of the shipping / minor damage. I would have replaced the water blockers either way because of how small and cheap they were. Let face it the pole going to get stuffed up so that didn't bother me so much either. As for the paddle if it were the part that goes in the water I probably have returned it but it was the top part. ... show more

  • Great paddle
The paddles are very well made and have no play when connected. I have used them for 100+ hours and have not found one negative thing about them. They are light and have 3 different settings that can accommodate different paddling styles. This is the second pair we have bought, one 230 cm and also a 220 cm. I believe they will go the distance. Oh yeah, the wife even attempted to crush one by accidentally shutting the garage door on it. The paddle was in an old fish tank and was standing upright directly underneath the garage door. The garage door was shut on it 3 times before I realized what was happening (because the paddle was bowing). I went and looked at the paddle that was in perfect condition. It took a beating and still paddles as it was brand new. The shaft did not permanently bend and the paddle itself never showed long-term signs of being bent. Pretty good if you ask me. Check the warehouse deals as I believe I got one pair for around $60.00 free shipping. ... show more

  • Fun!
Color: Ahi Size: 230 cm
I LOVE this paddle. It's comfortable to hold and use for long days out on the water. Being available in so many fun colors was an added bonus for me! It held up well to an adventure paddle around brush and in shallow water, including pushing off the bottom of the creek and in gravel. I really can't say enough good things about this paddle! ... show more

  • Love the paddle; love the brand.
Been paddling with this brand for 15 years. Needed another paddle and our local store changed ownership and told me only if I special order it; wait for awhile for it to come in; and quoted a high price. Got this Paddle in two day at a great price!!! So much for supporting local

  • No complaints
Color: Sunrise Size: 230 cm
Bought this for my wife as her current paddle was the one that came with the kayak and it was a bit short and seemed cheaply made. On lake she was much faster with less effort. She was ahead of me and I could not catch up to her on my paddleboard. I was working hard and she was using very little effort. Ordered a 2nd one for myself and my kayak ... show more
