I live in the Bay Area (CA) and bought this shirt-jacket to throw on when I walk my dog or run local errands. We have mild but cool falls/winters/springs in this area and this shirt-jacket has been great! The L fits my 6’1” 190lbs frame perfectly - room to layer, but not swimming in extra material if it is just over a t-shirt. The exterior layer is soft, somewhat thick, and semi-durable (somewhere between a cotton shirt and heavy duty canvas jacket) and the interior is thin but plush and warm (almost feels like a thick microfiber material). It has a good array of pockets, I especially like the hand warmer ones that are lined with the warm interior material. Typical Carhartt quality and attention to detail. I chose the shadow color and like its medium matte shade of gray, but the other color choices look like they’d be nice too. This might not be a good choice for a jacket that is going to be used for extreme work environments, but as a light-duty shirt-jacket option, it really is tough to beat, especially for the price you can find on Amazon. This jacket is great. The fit and feel are perfect. It is not large and bulky but is still very warm. It has several pockets that aid in its versatility. I cant say enough about. If your considering getting one, buy it.

Absolutely the best quality and comfort in a shirt jacket. Fits loose and large pockets are great. Inside breast pocket great for your phone. Bought it for 40.00 and next day prices went up to 69.99. Only issue was price increase.

This is the best shirt jacket I have ever purchased. I wore it for years and years wash after wash it stayed intact. The only thing that changed was the color as it faded, but in my opinion, it made it look more authentic. I finally bought a new one and I handed my old one down to my dog as a blanket on cold nights in the garage and she seems to love it too rough and rugged very warm was always my go to on cold days or nights at work, in the shop, camping, around the camp fire or under my truck as I serviced it. My wife couldn’t believe it when I gave it my dog she said “ you love that jacket” I said I know and now my dog will… don’t worry I got a new one.

I had been wanting a carhart shirt jacket for a long time. I work in construction and always seen people wearing carhart. This is my first purchase after contemplating for a long time. Very durable, thick material on the outside. Perfect spring shirt jacket. I am 6’ tall and muscular. I ordered a large and it fits me a little lose and tall. I could probably wear this on top of a sweater or hoodie. A size smaller maybe a snug fit but I’ll keep this. There were no pictures for oiled walnut so I’m adding two pictures in two different lighting. It’s a darker brown, not shiny or orangish as shown in the description picture. Hope you find this useful. The reason I have a 4 star rating is because the buttons are shaking making a metal shaking sound and I’m not sure if that is supposed to happen.

I had a "Shirt/Jacket" for many years that was with me through many Scouting adventures. That stated, my Bride requested that I replace the "Old Soul" - granted it was very well-worn and VERY comfortable - just not something you could wear casually any longer. It took me a long time to find something to replace it and this Carhartt fits the bill. It is very comfortable, the size was perfect - a little extra room that a heavy long-sleeve shirt will fill and the color was as expected.
