  • A Game Changer for Cold NY Winters
Size: 4X-Large Color: Dark Brown
I had been wearing the same worn-out winter jacket for 11 long years, and finally deciding to replace it with Carhartt's Washed Duck Sherpa-Lined Utility Jacket was a game-changing decision. Here's why: Pros: Exceptional Warmth: The sherpa lining of this jacket provides superior insulation, making it perfect for those biting NY winters. I was amazed at how much more comfortable I felt, even in freezing temperatures. Stylish and Practical: The jacket is not only warm but also looks great. Its relaxed fit makes it comfortable for daily wear, whether for work or casual outings. Durable Construction: Carhartt is known for its rugged design, and this jacket is no exception. The washed duck material feels sturdy without being stiff, promising long-term durability. Versatile Utility: With practical pockets and thoughtful design, it's clear that this jacket was made with the working individual in mind. It's perfect for outdoor labor or just braving the cold on a day out. Worth Every Penny: Although I was hesitant to replace my old jacket, the investment in this Carhartt jacket was well worth it. The quality, warmth, and functionality are unmatched. Cons: Why Didn't I Buy This Sooner?: My only regret is not having bought this jacket years ago. I can't believe I missed out on so much comfort. Conclusion: The Carhartt Men's Relaxed Fit Washed Duck Sherpa-Lined Utility Jacket is a must-have for anyone dealing with cold winters. It combines functionality with style, durability with comfort, and offers value that is hard to beat. I'm now looking forward to winter, knowing I have this jacket to keep me warm. If you're in the market for a new winter jacket, don't hesitate; this one is a winner! ... show more

  • Carhartt Nails It with this Awesome Jacket
Size: Small Color: Gravel
This one hits all the important points for me! Got one in brown, and another for my son in gravel. Top attributes: 1) super durable and tough face fabric with the 12 oz duck canvas, 2) fit is not too much of a relaxed fit - it is not baggy (compared to other Carhartt products in same size where extra fabric just gets in the way of actual work use), 3) decent warmth and comfort with the sherpa lining (but don't expect it to keep you as warm as a puffer), 4) useful chest pockets for phone, pens, knife, and 5) overall good design that balances function and style. Low attributes, but not terrible: 1) heavy and bulky, 2) hood is just a tad too big, 3) mmm, nothing else noteworthy! ... show more

  • Perfect Fit, Great Jacket.
Size: Small Color: Gravel
I was conflicted between the small and medium size, but I took a chance on the small, even know I normally wear mediums in hoodies and other jackets. I based my size off of a Wrangler work jacket I recieved last year for Christmas that was a size medium. Unfortunately, that jacket was a bit too big, for the sleeves went far past my wrists and the shoulder seams went too far past the end of my shoulder. It felt too bulky as well. So for this Carharrt I took a chance on the size small and didn't regret it. It fit perfect; the shoulder seams lined up and the sleeves covered my wrists perfectly. The length was good as well without it extending too low below my hips. I was even able to wear my favorite hoodie underneath it without the jacket feeling constrained and arm movement still feeling spacious. Keep in mind I have a relatively small frame, anyway so your mileage may vary. I asked my dad to try the jacket on, who is an inch shorter than me and has a more athletic build with slightly bigger shoulders, and it fit him perfect as well. The jacket itself feels high quality and will definitely hold up to some wear and the sherpa will definitely keep you warm. It's now probably the best jacket I've ever owned with plenty of pockets and a lightweight feel to the overall coat. Highly recommend if your considering it, for it is a solid alternative if the Detroit jacket lacks too little features for you. ... show more

  • Will probably outlast me
Size: Medium Tall Color: Moss
I've been eyeballing Carhartt gear for some time, and I finally went ahead and got this Carhartt Utility (aka Bartlett) jacket. Really nice. I think they thought this out well, and nailed making it look stylish while still keeping it a genuine work coat. I just had to get the 'Moss' color but I couldn't find that color in a regular medium, so after reading many of the reviews, I took a chance and ordered the medium tall. I'm about 5'10"ish, around 160lbs and the medium tall actually fits my torso quite well. Not a crazy amount of extra material, and yet enough room to accommodate a low profile puffer vest when needed. The drop hem in back goes just a little past my butt, so as someone else mentioned here, the medium tall drapes the backside like a parka, which is going to be appreciated on cold, gusty days here in MI. The sleeves are where I really notice the difference between 'medium' and 'medium tall' - I have slender arms, and so the cuffs on the medium tall do extend over my hands a bit more than I'm used to, but again, I'd rather have them a bit longer than shorter. Other reviewers had remarked that the hand pockets were shallow, but I can comfortably fit my medium/large hands inside them, even wearing some medium thickness gloves. I really like the hood. As others mentioned it's not humongous, and sits well on the back of the coat. I don't have a very large noggin, and the hood covers my head nicely - I will actually use it! It's got the must-have zippered inner pocket, and I like that the velcroed pocket on the opposite side isn't too fiddly. Some folks also commented about the zipper not being robust enough. Yes, it could be bigger (and had a double pull, while we're wishing), but I don't think it's unreasonably small. For short jaunts I'll probably be relying on the snaps more. What makes it a true work coat? Triple stitching at all of the stress points, pleats at flex points on the shoulders and elbows, and reinforced cuffs. Certainly not an inexpensive piece of outerwear, but as Daddy always told me, 'you get what you pay for', and it will probably outlast me. :) ... show more
