If I'd known how spectacularly this would turn out, I definitely would've gotten a before picture! This is the top of an old piano bench. It was covered in paint, the ancient varnish was patchy -- it was sad and shabby without a hint of chic. I sanded it down, then worked the beeswax compound into the wood using the provided sponge. It was so easy that my admittedly extremely competent 7 year old granddaughter helped me do it. As you can see in the picture, the result is stunning. It went from an eyesore to a pride of place piece in less than an hour, including sanding time! Don't hesitate. Get plenty, use often. One caveat -- if you get the surface wet, you'll have to redo it, such is the nature of wax finishes. But it's so worth it. ... show more

This is a great value. I make butcher blocks as a hobby so I’ve tried many other conditioners. I’ve started a subscription for this brand because of the value. This does the same job as the others but at a fraction of the cost. I had been looking for something that would preserve the grains of the exotic hardwoods I work with without yellowing. This has done an amazing job! One picture shows sanded mallets and the other shows the same mallets after two coats of this bees wax. This is what I have been searching for! I've used this product before and like it a lot. These jars are the size of baby food jars. If you need a larger supply, check the sizes. I will pay better attention next time.

The smell was wonderful (orange oil added)! It goes on with the texture of room temp butter, rubs in well and is not greasy from what I can tell. My poor mahogany cabinet had very dry wood and the finish had been challenged by living in a damp wooded environment for 20 years. I suspected that a light film of mildew had gotten into the finish. I had previously rubbed it down with 90 percent alcohol, then damp cloth to rinse and then dried it and rubbed it twice with olive oil. The re-test finish is about a month after the second coat of olive oil. It helped a little but still looked bad. This product went on easily and as you can see, the results were amazing! Even some deep scratches are nearly invisible now. I suspect the added orange oil helped lightly dissolve a bit of the old finish and smooth the surface so it could better accept the bees wax. Have a large entertainment center that gets alot of sunlight. Used this product on it to see if it made any difference. Well even my husband can see it , so it has to be pretty drastic difference.
