  • Great product at a great price !! Amazing customer service!!
Item came on time and as advertised, I would buy from the seller again. I installed this unit on my HJC Rpha 11 pro and was very easy to install. There were a number of reasons why I chose this particular unit. First Cardo got great reviews from a number of sites and youtube channels. Second the unit is really small, I don't even know it's on my helmet. Third, it's waterproof. I do a lot of touring and have been caught in the rain numerous times, Cardo is warrantied for water.damage. Fourth, the battery lasts all day 10+ hours with power to spare. I don't make or take a lot of calls when riding, or do a lot of group riding where I would use the intercom system. But the few calls I've made people have heard.me clearly. I mostly use it for music and listening for directions on google maps. Fifth, the sound quality is clear, I always wear earplugs and even at highway speeds (70+), I don't have trouble hearing music or directions. This is the non JBL version, if you're looking for a concert hall experience you'll be disappointed. This is specifically for motorcycle riders, so that goes without explanation. Sixth the voice commands work great. Easy to sync with my google phone. Seventh, it was only $139.00 So much bang for the buck !! This was specifically made for HJC helmets, but you could probably fit it in other models. I've been very very happy with this item and I would highly recommend it to any rider, even at the normal retail price. But for $139.00 buy one now before they sell out !! Update!! I bought this unit in April 2020, by November 2020 it only charged to 20%. I contacted called Cardo and they responded promptly via email. I described the problem with my unit. They said to send my battery pack to them, not the speakers or the side unit. I received a new battery unit within a week. They also informed me that there is a 2 year warranty, from date of purchase. Great customer service, very prompt and professional. ... show more

  • A good deal for the price
Given the price, you get a lot for what you will pay, considering what intercoms cost these days. This is the base for what the PackTalk Slim became. These were marketed as an HJC joint venture. Its a two-piece unit that does NOT come apart. Note you can NOT remove the part with the USB (charging) port for charging without taking everything off the helmet. You will essentially need to charge things while ON the helmet (take the helmet to your charging location). A slim pushbutton pad mounts on the left of the helmet and the rest of the guts mount behind your neck. You will find on some helmets (my HJC i70) that the bracket for the rear section is far to long and the unit hangs down below to rear neck roll. You will need to cut about 1.5" off the top of the rear bracket to get the unit to fit flush against the neckroll when you push the bracket up between the helmet shell and padding. Sound quality of the JBL speakers is impressive. The speaker connections use a 1/8" plug so you can swap in earbuds if you want. In my HJC i70 there is enough room to mount the speakers in the ear pockets and STILL use earbuds should I ever want to switch quickly between them. Volume and fidelity are impressive. You can connect to two different phones PLUS a GPS unit. This has built in radio and voice commands. The voice command set is limited and I find I have to speak loudly ("Hey Cardo, Music off!")for it to respond correctly even though the microphone is directly in front of my mouth. Do NOT follow the directions in the box. My device WILL NOT pair with the Cardo SmartSet app as instructed in the directions and the directions to install the phone app are beyond lacking. Use Cardo Connect instead. YOU MUST PAIR YOUR PHONE TO THE SMARTH JUST LIKE ANY OTHER BT DEVICE BEFORE YOU CAN DO ANYTHING. Neither the SmartSet nor the CardoConnect apps help you do the paring. Even after paring the SmartSet app will nto recognize the Smarth unit. Additionally, the pocket guide in the box is cumbersome and difficult to understand. Download a better pocket guide from Cardo instead. https://www.cardosystems.com/wp-content/uploads/guides/pocket/en/smarth.pdf Note... If you plan to MAKE calls using Smarth it will use the phone paired as #1 to do so. As for intercoms (which I don't really care about), you will need to drop one of your phone pairings to pair with a non-cardo unit but this unit has the basics of Cardo Mesh. ... show more

  • Great
Way better than I expected and as far as I can tell is the same as the packtalk slim. Also bike is pretty loud so I just use some earbuds instead of the included speakers. The speakers were fine I just find the earbuds to very clear and don't require much in the way of volume. Battery life seems pretty good so far haven't had it long enough to truly review that portion. ... show more

  • Packtalk slim for less than 1/2 the price
It's a packtalk slim, with lesser speakers. Worth every penny as it can do all the things a slim can with the firmware update.

  • Huge disappointment
Purchased this based on the fact that it was made specifically for my helmet. I was only able to charge it 4 times before the port came disconnected from the device. Very disappointed that I can't even use this anymore.
