Was looking for a rebuild kit for the carburetor on my sons 03 XR100. The kits were about $16 but then I found this complete carb for $22. Took minutes to install and started right up with just a few turns of the idle screw for adjustment. Totally the "easy" button for carb repair. Highly recommend.

Don't take the reviews as correct. Amazon lumps them all in one carb reviews. Reviews all said fits Honda xr100. Mabey one did. Barrel bigger. 34 inch cable when stock cable Is 36 can't use old cable. Stock 27mm my new one 30mm. Well the shippers answer was to give me a number for a 36 inch cable sold here on Amazon. $ 7.95. Ordered it be here 5 days. Shouldn't advertise as fittings a Honda xr100r when cable is to short. Old cable won't fit because barrel where slide is 3 my bigger than stock. Well turns out carb appears to be fine. On 1998 Honda xr100r. Original carb barrel is smaller [pics] cable from old can't be taken out to use in new carb and new cable is short by 1 1/2 inch both enter and outer cable sheild A 4 star until I put it on. Some things to watch for . The gas idle screw under float bowl. Mine came with about 1/8 turn out. No good need about 2 turns out from every thing I have read. But when turned out that far spring will not give a resistant to hold it so I stretched it about to the shoulder. Then it had some holding power. I also cut 1 1/2 inches off the bottom drain hose cut bottom at a angle to tell how much it is being turned. The hose something to turn screw. I used cable that came with it but boot kept coming off so used tiny clamp because dirt can enter there if not solid. Attached pics to show these things. Made two short screw drivers in case I need them. One out piece copper 1/8 rod the other from a elcheapo set. I had bought one about 3 years ago off eBay from seller states. It had to be a return. Missing many parts Clip inside slide holds needle jet. A brass piece on side carb just above choke. Choke plug thing fell out in end throttle shaft. It was a mess

The end of throttle cable that attaches to the carb is not compatible with a genuine Honda carb, so it is necessary to replace the entire cable too, which is a hassle. It appears to be cheaply made, with some sharp corners on the casting. The fit and finish is definitely not as nice as a Keihin or other OEM carb. However, I have been using it for about 5 months and it still works fine. And it was a great price. I figure if I get a year out of it, it will be worth it! Follow up - it has now been 3 years, and the bike would not start after sitting for a few months. I have never used fuel containing ethanol in this carb. I took it apart, and it looked fine inside. I gave it a quick cleaning, but it still would not start. Rather than spend all night giving it a thorough cleaning, I got the original Honda carb out, and cleaned it up instead. Then I had to go through the whole painful process of replacing the throttle cable. Why not just make it compatible with the original Honda cable??? Overall, 3 years of use isn't bad at all for the price, and I'm sure if I tried hard enough, I could get it running again.

Installed this on my son’s XR100R and it transformed the bike. Runs just like it did in 1998. Didn’t even have to make any adjustments! Didn’t know what To expect since this was low cost but we are pleasantly surprised by the fit and quality of the carburetor!

Installed it and it never quite worked right. The idle would go up and down, it cut out at higher rpms, and the throttle didn't slide as smooth as it should. I ended up just rebuilding the original carb and used it instead. Now the bike runs perfect. Ill keep this one as a spare. With some rejetting and tuning It could be made to work better. It installed easy and everything fit the way it should. I buy tons of these cheap carbs. Sometimes they work perfect and sometimes they don't. Can’t complain too much though with how little they cost.

Put this on a 2003 Honda XR100R. Was able to use the existing curved throttle cable, but changes out the needle valve with the new one. Started right away and ran great. Old carburetor was cleaned numerous times and reset to factory adjustments but never ran right. This née carburetor was cheaper than a rebuild kit for the old carburetor.
