Had a ding on my roof from rock that the NPR could not reach without risk of damaging the airbag just under the dent. This device was excellent. It was a very hot day and I had a slight adhesion problem requiring NYE to redo the process 4 times but each time it pulled the dent out a little bit more now it’s practically gone (unnoticeable ). I’m super happy with the result and will surely use the kit again! follow the instructions and take your time, I think is better to do multiple little fixes than overdo and risk other possible damage to paint , etc..

POSITIVES I am mostly quite favorably impressed with the quality of the tools in this kit, which are typically solidly-made. In particular, I appreciated the quality of the machined-metal “gold lifter” relative to a plastic-fabricated tool for the same purpose that I saw on a YouTube video. I also appreciate the quality of the slide hammer (a long T-handled rod that attaches to glue-on plastic pieces at one end and contains a sliding weight that exerts pull-out impact on dents)… and the supplied “bridge puller”. I further appreciate the larger variety of hot-glue-on plastic pull pieces for various types of dents — although the inexplicably-completely-smooth bottom surface of the one I used let me down (as I discuss below). UNFORTUNATE EXPERIENCE That said, I could not get this tool to pull out a relatively-large dent in my 2005 Toyota Matrix (see attached photo #1) for which I used the largest plastic piece available in the kit: an approximately-12 cm-long railroad-track-cross-section piece of blue plastic, shown glued to the car in photo #2. This plastic pull piece attaches to the business end of the slide hammer via a slotted square tube (two sizes of which you can see in the main Amazon-page photo). I worked the slide hammer with some vigor on this dent for a relatively short time and got nowhere, culminating in the SMOOTH BOTTOMED plastic piece completely disengaging from the hot melt glue. See the glue residue in photo #3. (No problem with glue adhesion to the metal.) To quite substantially improve the grip of the glue to the plastic piece, I bored centimeter-spaced 11/64th inch holes through the contact face, on both sides. Objective: to cause the hot melt connection glue to extrude through the holes in the piece and thereby create a MECHANICAL INTERFERENCE connection with the glue, not just adhesion to the smooth bottom. Photo #4 shows this revised plastic piece attached to the car. The holes worked. I was able to vigorously apply pull impacts to the dent, using the slide hammer over a substantial time. However, even with those modifications to the plastic piece it ultimately tore off from the glue. (By contrast, the glue again adhered extremely well to the metal dent.) In the final analysis, even after all that work, I could not see an obvious improvement in the dent. Compare final dent photo #5 with initial dent photo #1. BOTTOM LINE Despite the general quality of this kit, it was inadequate to improve my large dent. Perhaps no dent-removal kit of this caliber would be adequate for my requirement. Perhaps 2005 Toyota body metal is substantially thicker than average for cars of that vintage. If so, then I cannot fault the kit for that aspect of the failure. However, the completely-smooth bottom of the largest plastic piece is, in my opinion, inexcusable. My bored-hole-pattern workaround, though substantially successful, should not have been necessary — though I recommend that modification to the manufacturer for future kits. Given the overall quality of the kit and of the prospectively disproportionate challenges of my dent, I won’t fault the manufacturer for my failure. However I deduct a star from my rating because of the unacceptably smooth face of the largest plastic glue-on piece. Also, I consider the instructions inadequate; I needed to consult YouTube before proceeding with the attempted repair.

Hot glue gun is cheap quality. I believe if you could get the glue to come out quicker and smoother, it would adhere better and actually pull the dent.
