I purchased these to have a good pair of wet boots to provide a better fit of my snorkeling fins and reduce foot and ankle chafing. They get 5-stars for their effectiveness for that purpose. I wear a US Men’s 8 shoe and the sizing chart worked perfectly for a snug but not squeezing fit. Seals well and my feet stay very dry, even when fully submerged. Compared to barefoot fin-fit, these make it feel like the fins are an extension of my feet. To my surprise/delight, these also make for excellent kayaking shoes! The anti slip texture is great for maintaining friction when getting in and out of a slick, wet plastic kayak, and they’re pliable enough to still get good foot feel on my footrests. I did dock a star due to the lack of a more protective sole. On several outings I’ve had minor punctures into my foot bed from thorns, sharp stones and slivers of glass, all within walking distance of shore. While these are fine on a perfectly sandy beach, anything more coarse than that, and you’ll be feeling it.

I got these to go along with a set of flippers (by same mfg> CAPAS) and glad I did. They really lock your foot into the "foot-box" on the flipper. They also protect my Wide-ass BIG TOE that rubs a bit where toe come into daylight. I bought a a size down bootie on purpose (my size was on cusp between L and XL) because I WANTED snug; the collar of the bootie is very snug above ankle (but then> it's supposed to be) but did NOT cause discomfort or cut off blood flow; collar is about2" high. Size chart is accurate. Booties/socks did not fill with water and absolutely no sand; they got a little wet because I was Boogie boarding and dragging flippers, thus booties, behind on wave; they emptied right out with a finger down the collar. Look at the photos: the bottoms will take some abuse OK, but I was on an all sand shore. If you have trouble sliding into (any) wetsuit, dust it with baby powder; I also powder-down my wetsuit schtuff after rinse and dry: good-to-go.

I play volleyball regularly and due to a indoor volleyball toe injury had to have my big toenail removed. I also play sand volleyball and I was told absolutely no sand could get onto my toe. After reading the Amazon reviews I purchased these and couldn’t be happier! While they do not keep water out (as they shouldn’t because they’re for diving also), they DO keep sand out! :D I was able to play with my healing toe and no sand got it. The neoprene locked around my ankles well. :) Been using them for a few weeks. My only complaint is that under the ball of the foot the grippy spots are starting to peel off, but I know this is due to use and running through the sand on my “toes”. Overall I highly recommend for keeping sand out

These have worked very well for me. It's been hot lately in Santa Monica, where I play beach volleyball and the sand gets quite hot when there is no cloud cover. I could not play comfortably without these. I think I bought mine a little too big but they still work well. They're a little loose but they still do they job and my movement isn't restricted.

I ride my jetski with some waterpark shoes that have good grip but they have holes in the sole to let water out. I ride in the river so when I'm done there was muck all over my feet until I got these babies! Now I put these socks on then my waterpark shoes and the combo is comfortable and my feet stay clean.
