I put this beast together easily. It’s not one solid piece of metal like the more expensive hex bars but once everything was tightened, it’s a solid hex bar. Feels very sturdy and built to last. The paint quality is nice and the metal is nice and thick. I bought the blue one because it was the cheapest and color did not matter to me. I only loaded two 45’s on each side but it handled it well. I don’t plan to lift heavy due to back issues (the reason why I got this.) I’m 5’4 so I stand on blocks to get a deeper squat since this has a built-in stand to prevent your weights from touching the ground. Very happy with this hex bar. Incredible quality considering the price for this trap bar. I got the 500 lbs version and was expecting relatively thin and light tubing for the price but this is a solid piece of equipment that exceeded my expectations. Additionally the pedestals allow for me to easily slide on my 45 lbs plates. I’m going to use some self sealing silicone tape on the handles to improve the grip. Also when you are assembling try not to use the suggested adjustable wrench shown in the directions and use a 17mm box end wrench to tighten the nuts. I highly recommend tightening the nuts AT LEAST a second time after you’ve assembled because this type of item is going to loosen them due to adding and removing weights plus picking up and setting down the bar. Otherwise just be prepared to check the nuts after the first few uses. ... show more

This trap bar works really well. I really appreciate the built in stand that both protects my floor and makes it easier to load/unload weights. It’s also easy to assemble, but just be aware that you will need TWO wrenches to get the bolts fully tightened. Two small improvements that would make this 5 stars: add knurling to the grips and add a rubberized coating on the bottom for even better floor protection. ... show more

It was very easy to assemble. It is extremely sturdy and better quality that anticipated. I watched people’s videos of the bar being loose, and well, it needs to be tightened. I used a socket wrench and adjustable wrench and tightened everything up no problem. I’m a female and assembled by myself in about 20 minutes. You have to retighten things over time. That’s normal. Also, all of my plates fit. You really have to get plates from reputable brands if you want things to be correct. There is not as much standardization of sizing when it comes to off brand/cheaper plates. I’m not knocking having to purchase plates based on a budget, I get it. But it is not this products fault that the plates don’t fit. ... show more

I love this trap bar, I’m a relatively new lifter with some experience and traditional lifts tend to hurt my lower back occasionally. With this trap bar it eliminates all that pain while still targeting those muscles it feels great to use and is really sturdy, just step in and get to lifting. Very well built trap and deadlift bar by CAP. Great look with the blue and easy to use. Good size and room for anyone. Easy assembly also. This will definitely last. This could easily hold 500 pounds with ease. The feel is spot on.

This trap bar is exactly what I needed for deadlifts and shrugs at home. The build feels solid and it handles weigths without any wobble or flexing, even when pushing it close to its max. The green color looks pretty cool, it adds a little character compared to the standard chrome or black bars. Only reason it's not 5 stars is the finish scuffs a bit easier than I expected. It doesn't affect performance, but worth noting if you're particular about looks. Still, it’s definatly a good bar and a solid addition to any home gym setup. I suggest getting some grip tape on the bars to help with your grip. Value is there. Thickness is ideal for a trap bar. Workout is top notch now without hurting the back. ... show more
