  • They do their job. Currently way overpriced.
I purchased a number of pairs of these plates, 2.5, 5, 10, 25, and 35 pounds, at the start of the whole pandemic and frenzy for gym equipment. Got them at a reasonable price, and while they are not the cleanest pairs (the material is a bit rough so it has scratched my barbell), the quality is enough for it to do the job. I've yet to weight them out to see how close they are to the actual weight. Typically I use the 5s and 10s now since I have calibrated steel plates. the 25s and 35s are to stand on for deficit deadlift work. HOWEVER, I got these in early May 2020 when a 10 pound plate was $16.11. Right now in March-April 2021, these are absolutely overpriced. $50 for a single 10 pound plate? $21.99 for a 2.5 pounder? Are you nuts? Even if your area isn't opening up gyms anytime soon, these are not anywhere near worth the price they're listed at. Until prices go back down, do yourself a favor and find a dedicated gym equipment website like rogue or rep fitness and purchase your plates there instead. ... show more

  • Cheap, but probably the worst plates I've encountered.
Well, on the plus side, it's weight you can put on a barbell... kind of. it's available on Amazon, and it's cheapish. That's about where the positive points end. The finger grip holes are a nice thought, but they're way too small for anyone with a hand larger than a six year old girl to plausibly use. If somehow you do manage to jam a finger into one of the grip holes, it's sharp on the inside. Never encountered that before, and I've bought a lot of cheap plates. One of the plates I got wouldn't actually fit onto a barbell. A manufacturing error caused the hole in the middle to be too small to fit. (Yes, I have an olympic barbell, and yes I ordered two inch plates.) This is easy enough to fix with sanding, but come on. Am I totally mad I got these? No. Can I recommend them in good conscience? No. ... show more

  • do the job, great price
I have a pair of 45's and a pair of 5's, with a set of 10's on the way (if Amazon ever ships them). The plates I have are great. They arrived in good shape, although the packaging for one of the 45's was trashed. Mine don't have the defects mentioned by others, although one of mine had some very small, relatively sharp burrs near the edge that were easily rubbed off by hand. I'm not sure if it was metal or just paint. I recommend looking them over closely or gently feeling around the surfaces to make sure there aren't any little burrs or sharp pieces that might surprise you. Otherwise they are smooth and fit my barbell without issue. Weights are accurate. They have stood up to being banged around on my cement floor without issue. ... show more

  • PROP65 CANCER WARNING!!!
Expensive for one ten pound weight but that’s not all. There is a Prop65 cancer warning on weight that does not appear on seller’s site on Amazon. Contacted them, albeit after the refund period, and they will not honor a refund or allow me to return the unused item. They, Instead, sent me an email describing how benign the cancer warning is. Don’t buy it!!! ... show more

  • CAP's quality control is not so good.
I previously wrote a 5-star review for some CAP 45lb plates. Unfortunately the 10lb plates I received were not quite as good. As mentioned by others there are burrs along the edge of the bore hole that I need to sand done with a metal file, which I should NOT have to do. If there burrs had been any worse, these would have been going right back where they came from. Clearly CAP has poor quality control which I believe to be typical of many Chinese manufacturers. If Rogue Fitness had USA made plates available (you will be on a wait list if you try to get those) I would have purchased those instead, especially considering the fact that I am paying top COVID-19 inflated prices for these less-than-top-quality plates. ... show more

  • Not 10 pounds each
I weighed each of the two 10 pound plates I received - one weighed 9.7 lbs, the other weighed 10.4 lbs. I'm a little concerned about imbalance when using them on a bar. Not sure if this manufacturer has a solid quality control system in place...

  • 0 Durability. Would Not Recommend. Broke on First Day
Weight broke after using it one time. Shattered on the ground. It’s supposed to be metal, but the weight fell from about 4 ft onto the Garage floor and shattered into 8 pieces. Strongly do not recommend these weights. 0 durability.
