  • Solid, No-Frills Plates – Best Value Out There
Style: ELITE Size: 100 LBS SET
If you’re building out a home gym and don’t care about flashy branding or fancy finishes, these CAP Barbell plates are hands-down the best bang for your buck. I’ve loaded up on a bunch of 10s so I can scale weight gradually, and it’s been the perfect setup for progressive overload without blowing my budget. They’re exactly what you want in a plate: durable, accurate in weight, and built to last. No wobble, no weird coating smells, no cosmetic nonsense—just solid iron that does the job. The center holes fit snugly on a standard Olympic bar, and they’ve held up great through all kinds of workouts—everything from deadlifts to rows to landmine work. I like having more 10s because it gives me flexibility in loading, especially for accessory work or when I’m working with clients who need smaller jumps. It’s way more versatile than just stacking 45s and calling it a day. At this price point, you really can’t beat it. Whether you’re outfitting a full garage gym or just adding to your current setup, these are a smart investment. No ego-lifting—just real training. Btw the rest of my plates are Rogue and other than looking cool, I can’t figure out why I paid so much for those ... show more

  • Good Value for all the Weight.
The weights came in several different boxes that UPS left at the end of our drive. I got a workout just carrying the weights to the house. Like most people have said, the weights come oily and have a smell to them, but I let them air out in the garage and they are just fine. The price is right for this much weight. ... show more

  • 10/10
Solid construction, smooth feel. A little easy to scuff up. Great addition to the home gym at a good price. They do come in an oil of some sort you will want to clean off and air out. I’m assuming it’s to preserve the rubber material in warehouse storage. Scent does go away. Functional and right on weight. ... show more

  • Affordable and Solid for a Starter Home Gym
I picked up a set of CAP bumper plates for my starter home gym, and overall, they’ve been a great choice—especially if you’re on a budget. These are probably the cheapest decent plates I could find that aren’t the "Signature Fitness" brand, which was a big selling point for me as I’m just getting my setup off the ground. For the price, they deliver everything I need to kickstart my home gym routine. Out of the box, I’ll be honest—they arrived pretty greasy and oily, which might turn some people off. It seems like they’re coated with some kind of protective film from the factory, and while it’s a bit of a hassle to wipe down, it didn’t bother me too much. A quick scrub with a rag and some elbow grease got them ready to go, and once that was done, they’ve been perfectly functional. I also noticed some of the plates had minor damage—like small nicks or scuffs—but nothing significant enough to warrant a return. You get what you pay for, and at this price point, a few cosmetic imperfections aren’t a dealbreaker for me. For a beginner like me, these plates are spot-on. They’re durable enough for standard lifts and drops (I’ve got them on horse stall mat setup), and the rubber coating keeps the noise and floor damage to a minimum. They’re not fancy or high-end, but they don’t need to be—at this price, you’re getting solid, no-frills bumper plates that work for deadlifts, squats, or whatever else you’re throwing at them. Weights are weights, and these do the job just fine. If you’re building a starter gym and don’t want to spend a fortune, CAP bumper plates are a fantastic option. Just be prepared for a little cleanup when they arrive and don’t expect perfection with the finish. For the cost and performance, I’d say they’re a win—perfect for anyone easing into home lifting without breaking the bank! ... show more

  • Don’t overthink or overspend. Your muscles don’t know the brand.
Style: ECONOMY - SPECKLED Size: 100 LBS SET
Great value product. Weighs exactly as listed. Boxes wreak of cigarette smoke. Weights were not very oily. Didn’t even have to wipe them down. After three days in garage the weights smell like new tires. Slowly going away. No complaints.

  • Great Value. Normal smell
These weight plates are perfect for what they accomplish. Yes they had shipping oil on them when they arrived. I washed them with Dawn and dried them. They had a rubber smell for a few days. Not a big deal. I read reviews complaining about oil and smell. IMO those reviewers were exaggerating. I bought the plates for a leg extension/curl machine. The thicknesses are ideal for space saving. The ruberrized coating is nice for noise control. These were a great purchase and for the price , unbeatable. ... show more

  • Great set of starter plates
These are a recent purchase, so my review is based on what came out of the box. I read all of the reviews about smell and oil - so maybe I was overprepared, but I am really pleased with what I received for the price I paid. Were they oily? Yes, but there is also a valid reason for it - and it was very easy to clean off. Do they smell? Yes. I think the lower weight (10s and 15s) were the worst, but again, I expected that and it wasn't as bad as I had read. Are they precise? Probably not, but they are budget. I have not weighed them, but they feel balanced on my barbell, so I take no issue with the fact that there might be some variance. Were they in perfect condition? Almost. One of the 45s had a small dent the size of a finger tip (nothing I feel I need to return over). One of the 10s had a little bit sharper of an edge from the molding (skimmed with a blade and that was remedied). They look great, and the color coded lettering is a fun touch. They all fit properly on the barbell. Once out of the box and bag, I washed with Murphy's Oil Soap, set them outside for the day to air, washed again when they came in. The smell was greatly diminished. I did one more day of this and the smell was almost entirely gone. I have also read that sprinkling baking soda and letting it sit - or spraying/washing with a water/vinegar mix will also help. I have seen many reviews regarding the 10's and 15s being flimsy and breaking easy. They are a 1 inch thick rubber plate - at this price point, structural integrity is probably a mute point, and can be solved by not using them solo. Overall - as a starter set, I am extremely happy with what I received. If that changes over time, then I will update and edit. ... show more
