I purchased the CAP Barbell 150 LB Coated Hex Dumbbell Weight Set with Vertical Rack in Green, and I couldn't be more satisfied! I ended up buying two sets, and both arrived in perfect condition. The dumbbells themselves are sturdy, well-made, and coated to protect against wear and tear, ensuring they’ll last a long time. Putting the set together was a breeze. It took me no time at all to assemble everything. The rack is easy to use and holds the dumbbells securely, but I do want to mention that the rack feels narrow as some reviewers note, that being said, it doesn't bother me too much – if I really found it to be an issue, I’d simply choose not to use the rack. Honestly, for my needs, the rack works just fine and is a non-issue. A pleasant surprise was the lack of any foul odors or issues that some reviewers mentioned. bought these for a home gym and they work great. Price was amazing and they shipped for free. When you open the box you'll need to leave it outside for a bit because there is a super strong plastic/rubber smell. They are well made and the rack is super helpful for storage.

Other reviews that have stated that these dumbbells stink up your whole house might not be exaggerating. My weight room is on the second floor of my house. It has been about 10 days since I opened the package and assembled the rack. For the first several days, I could smell the strong chemically rubber smell even downstairs. I cleaned all the weights out of the box with dish soap and warm water and this did nothing to reduce the rubber smell, though it did help with removing the manufacturing oils. After about 7 days, I could no longer smell the rubber on the first floor, though it still smells strongly on the entire second floor. I have taken to putting baking soda near the weights in attempt to absorb some of the smell. I am hoping the smell fully dissipates with more time. Besides the strong smell, these weights are very nice and the rack is sturdy. The rack assembly instructions are not 100% clear though. They say you need a wrench, but don't specify for exactly what. You need the wrench clamped over the nuts to be able to use the Allen wrench to screw in the bolts. Not a big deal and easy to figure out for most, but I'm sure some people would be thrown off. The weights feel good to use when working out, and there is sufficient space for picking up and putting the weights back on the rack. If your weight rack is resting on hardwood flooring, furniture pads or a mat underneath are recommended because the rack is steel and has no padding on the bottom. ... show more

These weights are a great purchase if you’re just starting out. I love that the stand doesn’t take up a lot of space but it’s still easy to remove and put the weights back. The weights are comfortable and easy to grip, another thing I love is the functionality of the stand, as well as the weights. It’s such a nice feeling knowing there’s not a million people a day touching the weights so I don’t have to worry about germs to heavily but I can also pick up the weights during my babies playtime and still get a good workout in. The stand is super easy to assemble all the hardware was include. I saw a few other reviews before purchasing that talked about a smell of rubber which upon delivery and opening the boxes these weights definitely do have a smell but it airs out after a few days and they no longer smell. ... show more

Idk why but the weights with colored rack is like $20-$30 cheaper than black rack so of course I jumped on the cheaper version. Everything from CAP is top tier so going cheaper isn't a bad thing here. First the Dumbbells: Great weight, weighted just as described (going off of memory from gym times) and plentiful. Only thing I didn't like was the out of factory oil that was on them but a towel and a few disinfectant wipes and they're right as rain. They did also come with the new factory smell but that didn't bother me personally. I knew once out of package the smell starts to dissipate. The Rack: As I said, the colored racks are cheaper than standard black (idk why) so choose whichever color you'd like. I went with red. A bit annoying to put together because extra tools are required but once put together its great. Lightweight yet strong. Comes with rubber guards to protect your hands from getting nicked when taking weights on and off of the rack. For the amount of weight and the rack you get for the price, its perfect for any home gym. Gyms are starting to get expensive and crowded so you're better off making a home gym. This'll be a great addition to it. No need to spend an arm and a leg for a set of dumbbells. CAP got you covered. For the price of the Dumbbells and Rack, its about an entire month or even 2 months worth of your gym membership and you get to keep the weights so think about it. ... show more
