I purchased the orange rack - 1) because orange is my favorite color, and 2) because it was also the cheapest. I've have needed some heavier weights for a while, and I really wanted some hex weights. Getting the full set with a rack that allows you to store them efficiently is a plus. Weights (and gym equipment in general) have been so expensive since the pandemic. I was thrilled to get this full set for what I consider a bargain price (probably about 50% of the cost of similar sets) with free shipping. the set came in 4 boxes over two days - I sure felt bad for the delivery guy! The weights are packaged so that 3 of the boxes each holds 50 lbs (2 X 25, 2 X 20 + 2 X 5, and 2 X 15 + 2 X 10). The 4th box contained the rack parts with instructions and tools to put it together. I had it assembled in about 20 minutes, and it's perfectly sturdy to hold all these weights. The weights felt slightly oily out of the box and had a faint odor (chemical? plastic? metal?), but the odor is quickly dissipating. They are perfect hex weights - well balanced and grippy without being too rough on your palms. I did not check the weights themselves to make sure they are exactly correct on poundage - they seem close enough, and that's all I need. I've already used everything but the 5's - and I'll get around to them eventually too. ... show more

I’m impressed with this dumbbell set—it’s sturdy and feels built to last. The red color is a nice touch and adds a great look to the space. The weight range is perfect for a variety of exercises. Went ahead with these weights after reading the reviews. They are about the best value I found and it will be a while before a 25lb dumbbell is no enough for me. As others have mentioned, the off gassing smell is really bad. It bothered me more than I anticipated. I thought it would just be a kind of plastic smell, but it was more like burnt rubber. After unpacking them and assembly, I moved them to my enclosed front porch where the sun would hit them for a while in the morning and they would be shut off from the rest of the house. It took about 5-7 days for the smell to dissipate. Up close they are still a little stinky, but bearable. The initial smell and the lightweight rack are really the only reasons for dinging a star. You do have to be careful putting the weights back so that you don't pinch your hand. Unless I just started dropping these on concrete floors, I don't see any reason for them to holdup for several years. Maybe I'd consider putting grip tape on them just to avoid the cold metal handles. ... show more

Yes the dumbbells are smelly at first; it fades eventually. Yes they are cheaply made and require a wipe-down before the first use to get all the plastic residue off them. But overall they do just fine as dumbbells. However, I'm not satisfied with the rack design as it doesn't work well for people with larger hands. See the photos. Basically when I go to rack the weight, it will pinch me unless I slip out my pinky and hold the dumbbell with 3 fingers. Annoying to use. Eventually I will swap it out for a more traditional horizontal rack. ... show more

This is a really nice set of chrome handled, rubberized dumbells. Ive been a weights owner and also gym user for most of my adult life, n i find the quality to be comparable to the nicest sets ive used re appearance, size, comfort, grip, and use. Ull need to wipe these down once received, just due to the manufacturing process. Chrome oil, rubber dust, some small rubber casting debris. I brought them in the front door n set them up on the spot w o much of a mess. And altho my senses are keen, i did not find the smell described in some of the other reviews to be an issue - its a lot of new rubber. If the smell of new rubber bothers u, u may need to put these in the garage or on the patio for a bit. I keep them in the house. Setting up the stand is simple and straightforward. 12 bolts, w washers n locking nuts. (Allen wrench included, a small adjustable or 7 mm wrench is needed to tighten. These don’t take up much room and they’re good quality. I like that there were different colors available for the rack. They are comfortable and the grip is nice but they’re not super comfortable when you’re holding them during plank exercises but none of them really are. I don’t use the heaviest weights and wish these had 3lb weights too for the “Arms and Light Weights “ exercises I do. I works definitely recommend. ... show more

The weights received was extremely dirty and covered in dust and dirt like it was a used set that was left in someone's old shed. The smell coming from the weights is awful too. But I did receive all the weights and the rack. Just have to do some extra cleaning. Item arrives in multiple packages.
