Was using an off brand, although well reviewed, in my Canon Pro 10 printer. Could not get proper color balance when printing photos with the cheaper ink. Replaced all of the cartridges with Canon ink and the photos turned out perfect. Will only use the cheaper ink for non-critical printing going forward. Even so, the Canon ink is way too expensive. Save the sealing tabs if you are going to be swapping out ink cartridges for different kinds of printing. This is a large format, 13x19, printer and I use it for architectural prints as well and the color accuracy is not critical for those. ... show more

I used to purchase refilled tanks to save money because they were like 2/3 of the price! I WAS saving money until one day when 2 of the "refilled" tanks unsealed and drained into my Canon 9000 professional photo printer! In 2004 my wonderful husband spent $700 buying me a top of the line printer, as a scrapbooker I like to print my own pictures according to my projects. The tanks were expensive, red, green, photo cyan, photo magenta, photo black, regular cyan, magenta & yellow! Approx $160 to replace all the tanks! I could save like $50 using "refills" and through the Internet I was told they were just as good, well except when they drained their contents into my printer, destroyed the print head etc. Canon makes the best products, that printer lasted me 10 years and would still be going strong if I hadn't cut corners. My generous husband ordered me the Canon Pixma Pro 10 ($799+) and you can bet your life, ONLY genuine Canon inks will enter my printer! Over 10 years I saved approx $550 dollars on ink but it cost me almost a $1000 to replace a perfectly good printer! Take my advice, use only these products, your printing will be the highest quality, it will last you for decades and you won't void your warranty trying to save ink costs! I like the quality of these as my watercolor prints are very true to the originals but unfortunately they simply don’t last too long. I replace usually 2-3 times a year and that gets me about 60-70 5x7 prints per cartridge set. Still the best quality on the market so I will keep ordering these.

The inks for the Canon Pro-10 produce a great image. I have owned canon printers in the past, and their products just get better and better. However, the cost of their inks leave a lot to be desired, and if one is not printing a lot, when one goes to print after a long period of time, the machine sucks up a lot of ink to clean the print heads and that just makes the cost of printing become more costly. Great product, beautiful, right-on colors. Have a Canon Pro-10 printer and wouldn't buy any other inks than these. Do wish they would make the cartridges larger, though. Seems I'm always running low on one or the other.
