I buy new ink often and wish these would last longer and were cheaper. I’m a teacher and have a limited copy budget. That said, I tend to print from home a lot. Unfortunately, I go through ink way too quickly! They work great, just are a bit pricey.

Can't complain, except generally they don't last long. I got an HP printer and "instant ink," and found that their inks last a WHOLE lot longer. I think they simply add more to the cartridges for this service than they do those they sell in stores and online. But I don't know for sure. It'd make sense, regarding profitability. Headline is all you need to know. I strongly caution anyone from using "compatible" inks no matter their source. I had an older "pro" model which was in perfect shape. The only draw back was finding ink (bci series) and when found very expensive. Within 2 months of using 3rd party ink from a popular company, the print heads clogged and could not be effectively cleaned. The only solution was to replace the printhead which given age was impossible to find (as new). This occurred eventhough I had been printing on a daily basis. It should be noted that in all the years I had this printer utilizing proper maintenance, I never encountered any problem until i switched from official Canon inks. I suppose it may have been time to update / upgrade my photo printer which I did but in reality there was no need as my older printer was producing excellent quality prints - Until .... ... show more
