    • High Quality + Sustainable Ingredients! What’s not to like?
Flavor Name: Salmon & Sweet Potato Size: 22 Pound (Pack of 1)
Review Image by Stuart Strom Stuart Strom
I highly recommend Canidae Pure to anyone looking to treat their pup with high quality AND sustainable ingredients at a reasonable price! My flat coat retriever Maddie’s youth is behind her (~7 yrs old), so despite her typical retriever puppy energy well into adulthood, she was finally starting to slow down a tad. We thought for sure it was just age, but then we decided to switch her food up and we quickly learned that it wasn’t the case! Quickly after we switched her diet, her energy levels perked back up and her coat started looking better. Before Pure, a 30 minute walk would wear her out. Now Maddie forces me to play fetch with her after our walk, and looks for playtime at other times throughout the day. It’s no doubt a stark before-and-after due to the new food! She chows her food down as soon as I put it out for her, which is something that we’ve had issues with Maddie in the past. She’s definitely a fan of the Salmon + Sweet Potato! Finally Canidae is one of the only brands out there that truly works for the growers who produce their real ingredients using regenerative ag. As someone with an agriculture background, this is a big selling point for me! ... show more

Our dogs were having issues with sensitive stomachs and this helped so much. Recommended by a vet. Our dogs actually liked to eat it.

    • Loved the product , but not the early expiration date
Flavor Name: Salmon & Sweet Potato Size: 22 Pound (Pack of 1)
My vet recommended an all salmon food and the choices seemed limited . I’ve been happy with this product for the first 10 days . My only concern was I bought this late October and the expiration date was early December of the same year

    • Great Value - will choose over Blue Buffalo any day.
Flavor Name: Salmon & Sweet Potato Size: 4 Pound (Pack of 1)
EDIT: Canidae has increased their prices 2x what it used to cost... unfortunately at $5/lb - it is much smarter and more economical to just feed my dog home-made food with supplemental vitamins. Kibbles at the end of the day are one of the convenient ways to feed your dog, and regardless of how much "good" ingredient goes into the big processor to create the kibbles you feed your dog... that process kills much of the nutrients in the original ingredients. Just think about what it takes to allow these kibbles to sit on the shelf for months at a time without going bad. At this price point, I just don't see the need to buy this anymore. ----- Dog Food Advisor rated this food with 4.5 stars for good reasons. My picky eater of a puppy generally hates her kibbles, but she will tolerate this one and when hungry she will eat it... vs. ignoring any other type of kibbles altogether. Overall it's good. I think Blue Buffalo is completely overrated and honestly I personally trust Canidae more after researching both companies. This is a great value for the quality of food you get. EDIT: 2018-July 23 There has been a price hike with this food that's up almost 180% from what I used to pay for this. So while the quality of the food remained the same and I understand that prices fluctuate depending on ingredients etc. At almost $4.00 / per lb - I will no longer be buying this product at this price. The value at this point is simply not there. I would recommend at that $4.00 per lb of what your dog eats - you might as well cook your own food for your dog and it would cost less (or the same) and have a lot fewer preservatives in their food (Of course do definitely choose a dog supplements. Since it is actually very hard for people to ensure that their homecooked meals have the proper nutrition needed for the dog). I will be switching to a different dog food or start evaluating home cooked recipes. So sad to see them do this price hike without any explanation. ... show more

    • Good dog food with cleaner ingridients
Flavor Name: Duck & Sweet Poato Size: 4 Pound (Pack of 1)
The media could not be loaded. Great food for my bichpoo. I tried changing it to a healthier brand but it was so dry and my dog flat out refused to eat. This one he eats with pleasure.

    • One of the only Foods that my dogs will eat enjoy and stay healthy!
Flavor Name: Salmon & Sweet Potato Size: 22 Pound (Pack of 1)
1. High-Quality Ingredients: One of the most impressive aspects of Canidae Pure Real Salmon & Sweet Potato Recipe is its commitment to high-quality ingredients. The first ingredient is real salmon, which provides a rich source of protein and essential fatty acids. This is paired with sweet potatoes, a nutrient-dense carbohydrate that offers vitamins and minerals without the unnecessary fillers found in many other brands. Knowing that my dog is consuming wholesome, natural ingredients gives me peace of mind. 2. Limited Ingredient Formula: Canidae Pure’s limited ingredient formula is a game-changer for dogs with food sensitivities or allergies. With only eight key ingredients, this recipe minimizes the risk of adverse reactions while still delivering balanced nutrition. My dog, who has a sensitive stomach, has shown significant improvement since we switched to this food. No more digestive issues or skin irritations – just a happy, healthy pup! 3. Nutritional Benefits: This dog food is formulated to provide complete and balanced nutrition for adult dogs. The salmon provides high-quality protein to support lean muscle mass, while the sweet potatoes offer a digestible source of energy. Additionally, the recipe includes a blend of vitamins, minerals, and probiotics to support overall health, including immune function and digestive health. My dog’s coat has never been shinier, and his energy levels are fantastic. 4. Taste and Palatability: The true test of any dog food is whether your pet will eat it, and Canidae Pure Real Salmon & Sweet Potato Recipe passes with flying colors. My dog absolutely loves the taste. He eagerly finishes his meals and looks forward to feeding times. The kibble size and texture are also perfect, making it easy for him to chew and digest. 5. Positive Health Changes: Since switching to Canidae Pure, I’ve noticed several positive changes in my dog’s health. His coat is glossier, his skin is free from irritation, and he maintains a healthy weight. His overall demeanor is happier, and he seems more energetic during our daily walks and playtime. It’s clear that this food is meeting all his nutritional needs. 6. Packaging and Value: The 22-pound bag is a great value for the quality you’re getting. The packaging is sturdy and resealable, which helps keep the food fresh. It’s also easy to store and manage. Given the high-quality ingredients and the benefits it provides, I believe this product offers excellent value for the price. 7. Brand Trustworthiness: Canidae is a brand I trust. They have a solid reputation for producing high-quality pet foods with a focus on nutrition and health. Their commitment to using real, wholesome ingredients and avoiding artificial additives and fillers aligns perfectly with what I want for my dog’s diet. Conclusion: Overall, I am extremely satisfied with Canidae Pure Real Salmon & Sweet Potato Recipe Adult Dry Dog Food. It provides high-quality, limited ingredient nutrition that is perfect for my dog’s sensitive stomach. The noticeable improvements in his health and the fact that he loves the taste make it a standout product in the crowded market of dog foods.
