You open the box to an amazing assortment of color, from silver-white to black. A color chart is provided with a sample wrap of each color. The thread is a little more shiny than I like .... I do prefer matte colors, however, I'm sure I will still find a place to use many of these colors. Also provided in the box are two soft plastic thread wraps, a couple of lengths of thread net and two small spools of white thread, which I assume are for use as the base thread. I'm in the process of teaching myself hand embroidery, but I think these threads are probably a little too too fine for that and are better suited for machine embroidery. I'm now looking forward to experimenting with my sewing machine also - I think these colors will be fun to use and I do have a couple of projects in mind. ... show more

This set of thread is nice and shiny for embroidery. Ample spools and excellent color selection. Great deal for a great base set. Very Nice color reference chart made of the actual thread. So convenient! Overall, an excellent option. I love it! Thank you :)

I love that my next embroidery project on my Janome MC9850 will not be the kind, where I have to run to the store because I decided to change a color last minute. This has all the colors I could ever need and its polyester thread which is perfect! I am new to embroidery and still make mistakes so I decided to review this before trying it. I sometimes get birds nests with other threads which I have now learned is probably from not using enough stabilizer. Whatever can go wrong, I will be sure to do it and blame the wrong thing so I am trying to be fair here. It feels just like my other embroidery thread and I love the sample card! I love my new “Candle 63 Colours Polyester Machine Embroidery Thread Kit!” As an avid seamstress and machine embroiderer, I was in love as soon as I opened the box—so many beautiful colors to look at, including 4 neons. Plus, it’s polyester! So many embroidery threads on the market are made from rayon. Polyester thread is stronger, holds it color, has a high sheen, and lasts longer. This thread kit also comes with a wonderful thread chart (see pic), which helps you choose colors for your embroidery design; a couple of thread nets to help keep your thread from unraveling while in use; two thread huggers to hold threads in place when not in use; and the thread cones have snap-lock bottoms, also to hold thread in place while not in use. This Candle Polyester Machine Embroidery Thread is eye-candy for the sewer. It would make a great gift for someone who loves to machine embroider, or for someone who is just starting out. I tested this thread on some of my 1-needle embroidery machines, and also on my 6-needle embroidery machine. The thread worked great in all of them. It isn't "linty". There aren't any knots. It doesn't shred. Beautiful colors. It is nice to have the entire set of colors to work with. And, did just as well as the name brand threads. I'll definitely buy again. ... show more

These threads work with my Brother embroidery machine fine and the colors are great. I love the coloring chart with the real thread instead printing color block. The base of the tube designed to hold the end of the thread is hard to extend and make this feature not user friendly.
