This Campy Gear stove is more versatile than other propane stoves because it has dual functions. In addition it has a much smaller footprint and doesn’t dominate the room like others do. A weaker BTU output means my propane will last longer. Currently I burn a full tank up once a week using this only at night at its lowest setting. The dial is strange to me, I can get a much lower flame towards the off position rather than the dials preset low setting. Starting this stove seems finicky till you learn it’s quirks. It’s not the fast flame of an outdoor bbq grill, instead one must Push in, turn, then hold a second for gas buildup before letting go. That starts every time so far. ... show more

I had an issue with my first order and it came damaged by no fault of the company. I messaged the seller and they were quick to respond and came up with a solution quickly. ... I give it 5 stars for being light weight. But, it's too lightweight, and here is why: the hose. In the cold, the propane hose is so stiff that you can't straighten it out without the twist turning the heater over. So, you can't get the hose straight. Minor irritation, but for something that is suppose to keep you warm in the cold, that drops you a couple of stars (see update). And this is if 40f temps, not even freezing. We'll see how it performs next weekend, when I'm in 14f weather and below. UPDATE: I'm adding a star back, simply because Campy Gear reached out to me about the hose issue. I've suggested they look at an upgraded cold-weather braided hose for the future. I'd have been happier paying a few more dollars for that. UPDATE 2: Well, the Wiry isn't very good for continual duty. Last weekend, where I needed the stove to run continually, the valve went wonky and wouldn't keep the stove lit unless I was holding it in. Luckily, it at least ran on low overnight, although that was not enough to beat back the 4-8F temps. Needless to say, all of my dive gear froze overnight. I expected to wake up to warmer gear. Oh well. I'll have to find a better solution. ... show more

I got this little heater stove and really love it but it had a little leak I think in the little pipe. We trouble shooted to find issue, Andrew at customer service and myself. They sent me out a brand new one. The other was fine with out the heater cage on it. They replaced it regardless! I'm not new to these types of devices I use the jet boil and others too but I really thought this so easy and a heater to boot! ... show more

    • Great! But desperately needs an igniter
This little 1000g model is fantastic for heating the interior of a small van but also doubles as a pretty capable cooking stove. My van is insulated and I run it on max for about 30 minutes in the evening and again in the morning. I can get about 2 hours of run time on max with a 130g fuel canister. Keep your expectations low. In freezing cold temps I cant imagine this would do anything for a tent. The biggest problem is it doesn’t have an igniter and the cage around the flame makes it really awkward to light with a long rod lighter. I have to pull off the top, light it, then try to fit the top back on securely and not burn myself. ... show more

Bought this for outdoor work and camping, primarily to heat sheltered space. Heats in round so outdoors will need a deflector of some sort but I like how easily it switches to stove. Hear output noticeably different by when you do, but easy to switch back. Light enough but cold cable gets stiff and can make a little more difficult to stabilize stove. It cooks like a normal stove! I made coffee, rice, minced beef, eggs, pancakes. I haven’t used the heat setting yet but judging by how powerful this baby is, I know I won’t be disappointed. This is a huge life saver and it’s portable so it’s perfect for long road trips or camping!
