    • Amazing value - great little tent
Ordered on July 20, 2021 We originally purchased this tent for a buddy and his dogs to use when they visited us, and funny enough? Now that our teen son & I have started backpacking this is the best option we have. This tent easily fits our wide (30") sleeping pads with room in between them for our 2 large dogs and our backpacks. I am working on replacing the fiberglass tent poles with aluminum to reduce weight, and I have some plans in the works to reinforce the floor to keep it strong against dog claws and the fact we don't use a tarp underneath. No issues with tears yet, just some preventative steps I plan to take. There will be some jaws dropped that we take this thing backpacking, but so far, we haven't found anything wide enough to fit us and the dogs that weighs significantly less. Once we lose the extra fiberglass pole weight this puppy will clock in around 5 to 5.5 pounds. Between that and the pack down size? Even backpacking tents in the hundreds of dollars can't beat those specs. After a few years' worth of use it could use some fresh seam sealer, but we have not had any issues with rain or leaks. Again, some preventative steps just to keep this thing going. We did snap one of the sections for the doorway awning, completely our fault though from poor packing and really poor handling. The actual tent poles have held up well to years of similar mistreatment. Honestly this little tent is amazing and if you're on the fence, just go for it! Ease of set up is great, one person can set this thing up in just a few minutes. Simple cross of 2 poles, pin the tent corners into the poles and then slide on the rain fly. Can & have done it in the rain and in the wind without high drama. I see there are some comments knocking the included tent stakes saying they don't work or don't work well.... here's my luke warm take on that: the stakes included with ANY tent should never be used as they are all garbage. Do yourself a favor (and save your trip from disaster): buy some legit tent stakes. Normal campers can get some lovely steel stakes at any retailer for cheap, and backpackers should know to snag some aluminum ones which are going to weigh less and like, you know, stay in the ground. Opening a new tent should be a 2-step process: 1) check that all parts are included, 2) throw the provided tent stakes away. ... show more

This tent holds up in strong wind. I was camping at Lake Mead when the wind was blowing 15-20 mph. I was afraid the tent was going to get ripped apart, but it is flexible enough that it survived. Not a stitch was ripped. It also kept me dry during a moderate rain storm. I’m 5’ 10” and there is plenty of headroom. My only complaint is the mesh walls don’t keep in heat so when it is cold you need to bundle up. I think the instructions says it takes 2 people to set up but I do it by myself all the time. ... show more

We ordered this tent last minute to replace our broken tent for a camping trip in Leadville, CO. It easily fit a queen size air mattress, 2 adults, our dog and our packs. We got rained on 3x and everything stayed dry. The only issue we had was with the zipper. There is a lot of extra material by the zipper and it got caught in the track several times so it could be hard to open when in a hurry. Overall, I would give this a 7/10 rating or 3.5 stats (amazon only allows full stars so we gave it 4 because it kept us dry). Great tent as a last minute purchase but we would invest in something a bit nicer for longer trips. ... show more

I wanted to be sure and leave a review on this product. I purchased it to help entertain my 4 grand children while my son and daughter-in-law were in the hospital delivering baby #5. I wanted something big enough and sturdy enough for 4 moderately to highly active children. I was hesitant, due to the reviews saying the zipper wasn't durable. I'm not sure how the others broke, but this tent held up like a champ!! Four rambunctious kids, extra hyper with excitement. In and out of the tent a 1000 times. Falling on the sides. You name it. All of this for 2 days. After they left, I took it disassembled it, folded it up, and put it in the storage bag. Honestly, it looks brand new. You do not want this tent. Don't believe the description, if it says it's a pop-up tent, it isn't. It's a regular stakes and poles tent. The instructions are easy enough to use so you won't find yourself fighting the urge to drive the stakes through your spouses eyes, but honestly that was the least of this tents issues. Let me start with the good, it rained and we didn't get wet, but the ventilation is horrible unless you take the entire rain fly off and bake in the sun, so make of that what you will. I found that not having proper windows was just the start, the real fun was dealing with the door that should have been a windows. I bought this tent because my husband is 6'4 and this tent does have decent headroom, but none of this matters because the door doesn't unzip all the way to the ground so you have to hunch over to get through the opening while stepping over all of the fabric from the unzipped door and the half foot of fabric at the bottom that shouldn't be there. That isn't the only problem though, the brilliant designers of this tent made sure the flap of fabric covering the zipper falls right on top of the actual zipper, so when you try to unzip it you have to fold this flap back or the zipper gets stuck. On top of that the stupid little awning type thing over the door never stayed up, it just kind of hung there flat, limp, and sad, getting in the way of us going through the window, I mean door. All in all, this tent is garbage and I regret not returning it. Maybe I'll set it on fire the next time the moon is full. I thought about giving to to a homeless person but they deserve a better tent than this. Also, I don't know how you'd fit 6-8 people in here. My husband is tall but I'm not and the two of us fit in here with our stuff comfortably. I guess if you were talking about 6-8 children I could see it. But unless you have a bunk bed or something I don't see it. ... show more
