I give this hammock four stars because I really do like it and will take the extra steps needed to make it work. But for the seller to call this “Easy to use: Just take it out and it's ready to use” is just not realistic. It’s also unsafe. The listing led me to believe this was plug and play and it’s just not the case. I’ve got the perfect spot for this hammock, between two perfectly spaced trees and plenty of canopy overhead. For the listing to refer to the rope that comes with this as “TREE STRAPS’ is dangerous. As you can see from the photo, I can barely just wrap one set of rope around the one tree so there’s no way to tie a proper knot. And I cannot even wrap the rope around the tree on the other side. The pink rope you see in the picture is my dog’s slip lead! So there’s no way to properly knot this to suspend it from a tree on its own. The seller would have had to be more generous with the rope than they want to be! What I plan to do instead is tie the rope into a proper knot and suspend it from a hook, carabiner or O-ring that is permanently suspended from the tree via another set of heavy duty webbing. That way, I can install and remove the hammock from the hardware with ease for greater convenience. The fact that I have to figure this out on my own is unfortunate, which is why I remove one star from my rating. It’s going to take me some of my own engineering to get this right.

I wanted to love this hammock. Really. I miss my old one — long summer days, cool breeze, swinging in peace. But this? This is not the one. There are problems on so many levels, I had to sit down (carefully) and lay it all out for future hammock hopefuls. Now, for the uninitiated, there are two sacred parts of a great hammock experience: 1. The mount. 2. The dismount. Get either wrong and you’re one flip away from becoming a YouTube fail video. Let me explain why this hammock misses the mark: No wooden spreader bars. A quality hammock will have two teak (or other hardwood) bars stitched in at the top and bottom, anchoring the material to the ropes with even tension. Not here. Instead, the braided webbing is just sewn into the hem — no structure, no spread, no support. No metal grommets. Normally, ropes pass through reinforced grommets that protect the fabric from tearing. This one? They’ve helpfully pre-started the damage for you by slicing holes into the fabric and threading nylon cord right through. It’s a slow-motion fabric failure just waiting to happen. What’s the result? Hammock chaos. Mounting becomes the “hammock roll.” You try method one: straddle and lower — BOOM, you’re dumped sideways in the dirt. Try method two: back in, scoop-and-spin — congratulations, you're now a fresh sausage, wrapped and spinning, while your so-called friends laugh and take videos instead of helping. Look, it holds weight (so far), and the fabric is decently comfortable. But the design flaws are major and the safety is questionable. This isn’t just a nitpick — the structural shortcuts turn what should be relaxing into a clown show. 3 stars — only because I technically survived. But if you're a true hammock lover? Keep shopping. Don’t be the next backyard sausage story.

Got this to replace a quilted hammock we had on our stand that was pretty old and looking rough. I think I like this one better than the old one because the quilted fabric would get wet in the rain and take forever to dry. This one is thinner and dries faster but also since it does not stay spread open it does not collect as much water when it rains. It stretches quit a bit so be prepared to hit the ground if it is not up high enough. My husband is happy to have a fresh new napping hammock.

I love this it has the ties ready to go straight outta the box for easy assembly. The colors are spot on to the photos. Compared to the $90 dollar one this is replacing it’s very hard to find a difference in quality. Definitely worth the money. I especially love the width as it makes it even more comfortable.

This is made of a heavy cotton material, so I imagine will absorb a lot of water...I haven't had it hung up through a rainstorm yet to test that. It's supposed to rain this afternoon, though. I tied it between two pine tree trunks, so I had to really cinch the ropes to make sure they didn't slip. I tied one end in a loop then did a trucker's hitch with the other end to make it very tight. It's comfortable to lie in, but a spreader at either end would make it a more functional hammock for me. I may yet rig one. The stuff bag of the same material is a good bonus and makes it easy to store and pack away.

This hammock works fine, but is a bit tough to get in and out of. There's no real support keeping the hammock open for you. It's easier to use if it's spread farther apart. It makes a nice little taco out of you if it's too close together. The material is a little too light duty for keeping outside all the time. As it is, I remove the hammock when not in use.
