    • Great Adjustable Walking /Trekking Poles
I purchased these Trekking poles as they were on sale on the giveaways. I didn't win but was offered a nice discount so I decided to buy. I have really enjoyed using them regularly on dog walks around the neighborhood and out on some dirt and sand trails also. I only use one and keep the other as a spare. I feel comfortable and confident when walking now, as we have been attacked by other dogs before and once while using the pole, needless to say it really came in handy as it happened again but with the pole I had the advantage this time, using it to keep the aggressive dog away from us, it worked, the animal received a few jabs with the rubber foot and didn't want to come close anymore, finally the owner came out to take the dog away. They are fully adjustable and have a good solid handle with a cork covering to absorb sweat and a strap. They are of excellent quality and workmanship for my needs. I'm 6'1" and they work for my height. They also have the changeable tips for different terrain that is encountered and a carry bag. As a first time user, I'm happy to say these poles worked as advertised. I'm not a hiker, but I bought them for a first time visit to some of the beautiful National Parks ( Zion, Bryce and Grand Canyon) where I was going to do some light hiking. It wasn't hard to figure out how to take them apart and put them back together again. It took only a few times of practice to be able to adjust them to a comfortable level for my height ( I'm 5 ft short!) thanks to the clips and screws that hold them together. Taken apart, they fit into my suitcase, and my small backpack without a problem. When the weather turned rainy during my first hike, these poles helped me keep my footing on a slippery, steep surface. I was able to easily change tips and adjust height securely as needed for different surfaces during my trip. These poles worked well and made me feel secure whether on a slippery or firm surface. PROS: Cheap Strong Holds their adjustment Feet stay on even in mud (Fat man approved) CONS: Slightly heavy Mine came with one pole grip able to slide 1/8inch down the handle :( Not the end of the world but definitely a defect These trekking poles are amazing. I'm a 260lbs guy and while hiking I manged to slide because of mud. The only thing preventing me from completely rubbing against the ground (making me dirty and possible twisting my ankle) was these trekking poles. They completely held my weight enough for me to pick myself back up without any problems. A lot of people complain about trekking poles bending after a few uses and are very upset when they spent $100+ on high end gear. I've used these poles now for over 3 weeks. I bought them because I've suffered from some ankles injuries and wanted a bit of support for big long hikes. I've used the trekking poles, more than 15-20 miles hikes through mountains area and I haven't observed any difficulties on them. They've given me great support, taken the weight off my knees descending and increased my ascent speed by a considerable amount. The cork molded handles are very comfortable to hold and they are well made and durable. Obviously, the body aluminum frame it's a true artwork because of fatigue strength durability material and of course the awesome design. They arrived with many options for the pointy end for use on mud and hard surfaces, all in all, they are a great value set of hiking poles that will serve you well. These trekking poles are so easy to adjust for a perfect fit, that despite reading all the instructions and adjusting both the pole length and fitting on new pole ends to perfectly suit the terrain I planned to trek in, I was able to open the box, do the necessary reading, adjust everything, test it in the living room and get out the door in 20 minutes. I had one adjustment to make at the hiking site, which was a breeze. All in all, I am giving these top marks for sturdiness, comfort, ease of adjustment, and overall style. I don't know about you, but I like to look as good as possible even when I am out there getting me and the dog as dirty, and weary as possible. Perfect! I never understood the need for trekking pools til I borrowed this same brand from a friend while we were hiking in Dolly Sods, West Virginia....holy crap the difference it makes! Especially with our week long packs on our backs. They are also great for tapping in front of rocks as you are descending, checking for snakes that may be hiding. They also work with my tent which is designed to use trekking poles instead of dedicated tent poles, great for saving in weight. I couldn't wait to buy these for myself following the conclusion of our hike. My friend has had these for several years and they held up well ... show more

I have no experience with trekking poles and I've never owned any others but these. I used them a couple weeks ago to save my knees and stable myself coming back down the Alum Cave trail in the Great Smokey Mountains. If I had not had them, they would have had to send a pack of lamas to fetch me down. I am so happy I had these. My daughter used one to go up to Mt LaConte and said she was very happy to have it because they saved her several time from a "face plant". She thought they were for old people but now she wants her own so I'll be ordering another set.. Love how easy they are to adjust. ... show more
