We have tried them all and these have been the best over the years. The "nipple" on this particular model is easy enough to disassemble/reassemble for the occasional deep clean that is required. The insulation is about as good as it can be in a light bottle that fits the bike carrier still. By no means is the insulation perfect but it is much better than none at all. Purchased this specific color, because it appeared to be an 'off' color, so they had the lowest price. If you do your research, you'll find that none of the insulated water bottles are particularly effective in keeping liquids cold/cool for any significant amount of time. I bought this because one of my other camelbak bottles went missing. It's a new style of the same bottle I used to have. Some of the changes from the old to new style are good and others not so great. On the downside the bottle is more difficult to squeeze to get the water out. I also find that it keeps my beverage less cool than older models although that might be due to the dark color (it was the only color they had when I bought it). On a positive note the nozzle at the top now has a removable peice that you can take out for washing. This makes it a lot easier to use electrolytes in the bottle and not worry about bacteria or mold build up in the nozzle area. I suggest getting a lighter color and maybe not using this in Texas heat, as sometimes by the end of a workout this bottle has water so hot in it that you could make tea. Buyer beware: if your dog gets a hold of it they will destroy it As far as sports bottles go it’s perfect! I use the smaller ones for smaller rides, and the bigger ones for bigger rides. Living in Florida the thermal properties - which are not earth shatteringly amazing - are decent. For long rides I mix water with Tradewinds powder for sustained energy, and love the locking feature so I can mix in the bottle without having it spray out everywhere. I then freeze one bottle overnight and leave the other in the fridge so I always have cold drink on my ride. Highly recommend, just make sure your pet doesn’t get ahold of it! ... show more

I own three of these Camelbak insulated bottles. They do as good a job as I would expect of keeping drinks cold and they do not leak. High quality. I would buy more of them.

    • Great bottle to keep stuff cold!

I had picked up a pair of these bottles back in 2014 when my old Polar bottles started leaking. They were an INCREDIBLE improvement over the Polar. They kept things cold longer, used a twist lock vs the pulling up and down to open the Polar and were much easier to drink from. Sadly, while winter riding, I tried to pull one out to get a drink when I had lobster claw gloves on and it slipped out of my hand into the road and was instantly run over by a car. The second one I put in the freezer to completley freeze my Vitamin Water for the next days 75 mile ride. I do this all the time wiht no issue. On this occasion, however, it slid out as I opened the freezer and the outer shell cracked (the inner shell is still intact and keeps things nice and cold. The crack was below the top bar on my bottle cage and keeps getting caught so needed a new one. At first, I couldn't find these. Thankfully, they are on Amazon again so I am picking up another two! These bottles are great for the money. The Ice version may keep things a bit colder for a bit longer, but most bottles (outside of Yeti) are not going to keep things cold for huge time periods when you are riding in the summer heat. They aer easy to open and close with one hand, very easy to get liquid out of either by sucking on the bottle or squeezing it, and keep things cold for a few hours. Great investment if you do longs rides on the bike! ... show more
