  • Disappointed
Style: Anchor Winch
Broke within the first year customer support is no where to be found....... would never get again the spool slipps with the anchor the offer with it...it's a waist of money and the worst part is I drilled holes in my boat for it ...... I wouldn't buy it for 50 bucks ..

  • it's slow
Style: Anchor Winch
It's slow, both coming up and going down, wish there was a way to free-spool it going down. But, I use a 30lb anchor on my pontoon and this beats pulling it up by hand

  • Pontoon boat power anchor
Style: Anchor Winch
Really like this anchor, comes with everything you need. However the wires were not quite long enough for my boat, required adding additional wiring to reach the battery. It operates very well, but I would have preferred the anchor rope be a little larger diameter.

  • This is more for the character of Amazon's customer service Representatives
Style: Anchor Winch
I purchased one of these that was described as a blem and was at a reduced price. When it got to my house it was damaged and broken and unusable. After calling Amazon Prime and describing what was going on to the representative he without question returned my money, and was as friendly as friendly could be and understanding to the predicament I was in. kudos to the people who work for this company. As for the product itself I can't really say but from what I saw it is a nice compact easy-to-use unit can't wait to get one that is not damaged and try it out. ... show more

  • Works fine
Style: Anchor Winch
I hesitated after reading some of the reviews but figured that Amazon has my back. My pontoon had no deck space in the back for this so i picked up a 24" piece of aluminum extrusion and mounted it to my engine mount. Unit has no trouble pulling my 25 pound anchor from the bottom of our muddy lake. Some times it comes up with a real load on it. Working the switch on the unit with my toes for now but am considering the auxiliary switch. ran it up and down 50+ times over the last week. no problems or concerns. My wife can now take the boat out with he friends and go swimming with out struggling with the anchor. two others on the lake saw it and have recruited me to mount theirs next time I am up. ... show more

  • An absolute joke. Buy a Minn Kota winch instead.
Style: Anchor Winch
If harbor freight tools made an anchor winch, this would be it. If you remove the cosmetic plastic cover and really look at the details, you realize how poorly designed it is, and the shortcuts used to make this cheap. - Instead of using the three threaded bolt holes in the aluminum casting of the motor to hold it to the main bracket, Trac uses a goofy claw bracket to hold it the motor down to the large winch bracket. The "claw" bracket is held to the winch bracket with two very cheap, and very small screws. - the shaft coming out of the motor that inserts into the plastic spool is supported by two ball bearing cartridges. One bearing is supported by a cheap plastic housing cover that screws to the side of the motor! The other bearing is supported by the aluminum housing of the motor. There is a lot of play in the shaft, due to sloppy fitment of the bearings in their housings. -The opposite side of the shaft fits into a nylon bushing on the other side of the winch bracket. This in itself is fine, but Trac GLUES a small plastic pin in place to keep the nylon bushing from being too sloppy. It WILL break or simply pop out at some point. - just look at the pictures I've included carefully to get a feel how poorly this winch is designed. I got this at a great deal for about $125. I realize now the trac winch isn't good at any price. At this time, a Minn Kota deckhand 40 is $215. I gladly spent the additional $100 on the Minn Kota. The Minn Kota uses an ALL ALUMINUM motor housing to support the shaft bearings. Even though the winch is rated for only 5lbs more, the motor is at least 50% larger. The finish and fitment is much better all around. The Daviy is heavier duty and spring loaded too. Looking at all the little details, the Minn Kota is vastly superior to this joke made by Trac. Up until this point I've never seen a Trac winch up close, but seeing what I've seen, I realize they have no sense of engineering or quality control. They simply gave this job out to the lowest bidder overseas. ... show more
