Last May, I went from a teardrop camper with a cassette toilet to a larger unit with the traditional black and gray tanks. My biggest concern was dealing with the "stinky slinky" and having to stand in line at campgrounds to dump my tanks. Not any more! With this pump kit, I can actually tap into my own home sewer cleanout and safely dump my tanks in just a few minutes. This thing is a real game changer. I have to admit, I tried to save money and bought a cheaper macerator pump before this one - big mistake! This little pump is so much more powerful, and much easier to store in the basement of my camper - no lugging around a gross "stinky slinky." Even in campgrounds with sewer hookups, I can use this pump and a 5/8" hose. The kit comes with attachments for the hose to hook into campground sewer outlets, and it is so easy and quick!     • Magical until someone flushes "flushable" wipes
I was going to dig a new sewer line for some guests and their RV, then decided to look for an Easy Button. This thing is the easy button! Worked perfectly over about 75 ft run and 2 ft rise. No excavating required. Until the guest's guest (not a seasoned RV pro) tried to flush a flushable wipe. It bound up the blade and required a bit of messy intervention, but I can't blame Camco for that. Buy this over knockoffs because $100 is not worth sewer problems. This Camco macerator has high-quality plastic, very long wires, and plenty of accessories, including a vented bag. I do not regret spending more. ... show more

    • Leaks like crazy
Used clean water to test product. LEAKS profusely at the water inlet/backflow fitting. If i cannot get the leak to stop, the product will be returned. It’s also really heavy when connected to the RV outlets. So you DEFINITELY need to rig something to hold it in place. Not impressed so far.

    • I had to deal with a leak.
The Rhino macerator pump by Camco is a great match for my Class B RV. There is a persistent leak of fresh water (if properly used) between the pump and the plastic fitting where the backflow preventer is installed. This connection contains a wire filter embedded in a rubber washer. That washer is not sufficient to tighten the joint so that it doesn’t leak. I’m OK with this condition for now because I added a second rubber washer which allowed me to tighten it quite a bit more. It isn’t perfect, so my primary workaround is to just use the black tank flush that’s built into my RV. ... show more

    • RV wastewater made easy
This pump works perfectly. I had it up and running within 10 minutes after delivery. Connected it directly to my RV and attached 60’ of 5/8” garden hose and the clean out adapter. Connected the 12v power to my tv battery with the alligator clips that were supplied and turned on the switch opened the wastewater valve and pumped the tanks completely to empty. I also did a power flush of my black tank at the end and then the grey water last. Everything worked perfectly and easy. Highly recommend this product! ... show more

    • Might not work with a 12v power supply (instead of battery)
An issue that might affect others - I’m running this off of a 120v -> 12v power supply that actually provides 13.8v. The motor runs too fast and aerates instead of pushing. It works fine off of a battery that doesn’t push the motor as hard. If this is your issue, there are PWM 12v motor controllers on Amazon for less than $20 that you can use to make the macerator variable speed. ... show more
