  • Necessity. Not a luxury. Don't camp without one.
Never had one before.. after having my last 4 hoses swell up like an anaconda that just ate a small child, then burst, leaving me to roll back to a camper with a huge mud puddle around it, or worse yet, a kitchen sink faucet that literally popped off from the pressure! Picture this(true story) you go to the beach for the afternoon, you return to your camper to find that the 160 psi water hookup blew apart your kitchen faucet, and it's been running for 5 hours.. there is a waterfall coming out your door.. the membrane on the bottom of your camper is full of water. You hate life! You should have just used a regulator. Just get one. Campsite water pressure is so unpredictable. Even the nicest campers are built like crap. Don't blow apart your pex piping because you Were too cheap to buy a regulator. ... show more

  • Simply the best! Absolute necessity for RV'ing and using city water faucets.
This Regulator is an absolute necessity to protect RV water tanks and connections. Reduces water pressure coming from the spigot to a safe level. The Regulator is very well-built and should last for years. All brass, so no rust. One suggestion is to have a supply of rubber rings to replace every now and then. That's the only thing that will wear out on this unit. Easy five-star rating and an honest and very hearty recommendation! ... show more

  • Simple! Durable! Perfect pressure for Pet Lodge Ever Full Bowl (CPW13) dog waterer!
The brass body is best for outdoor use, especially when temperature fluctuations are present. We don't go RVing, but the durable brass body would far outlast any kind of plastic or composite bodied pressure reducers I could have gotten on Amazon. Plus, my dogs would likely chew it right off the faucet. The wing nut-like flange attaches to the male end of your water faucet/valve. Absolutely simple to tighten and remove with zero tools. Once the brass reducer is on your threaded water source, the next attachment point (i.e., hose) again goes on without any use of tools beyond your G.I. Joe kung fu grip. The length of the reducer allows you to turn it freely on the hose threading without busting your knuckles up on the adjacent hook-ups. I use a 4-headed manifold from my single faucet/valve coming out the house. Primary use was attaching to Pet Lodge's Ever Full Bowl (CPW13) to reduce the water pressure that, before, relentlessly pushed water through the nozzle regardless of the volume control. This force pushes outward into the rubber stopper connected to the air bladder/bobber. Therefore, the water would flow non-stop and make a watery mess of my outdoor patio. Success! And no leakage! ... show more

  • Install? Use? Flavor?
I'm not certain why Amazon wants me to review for flavor but as a loyal Amazon customer I gave it a try. I tried pan frying first and it made an already tough lead free valve tough and dried out. Baking didn't make much of a difference either although I was able to make a nice gravy. Being in Texas of course I tried smoking it, low and slow usually works with tougher cuts but again, inedible. I'm going to have to rate it no stars for flavor. However, I've never had one fail, although I tend to leave them on RV camp site spigots about once a year. ... show more

  • For some reason the front water spigot was plumbed before ...
For some reason the front water spigot was plumbed before the house water pressure regulator and I was always blowing up sprinklers. Finally got a water pressure meter and discovered that the unregulated water pressure to that one spigot topped out at 157psi. Bought this Camco RV Inline Water Pressure Regulator attached it to the water spigot and retested with the meter on the output end of this regulator. 60psi on the nose as advertised. (note: photos show lower before and after readings. Evidently, city water pressure is less after dark for some reason) ... show more

  • Yes it works
FIL was in hospital MIL asks me to water outside plants, no problem, so I get there and turn on the hose and I thought I was trying out for the Fire Department !!! Hmm how do I water the hanging baskets without blowing the plants to the next county. I turned down the water several times and had to place my hand between the water and the plants and still WOW. I came home and of course got on here and my MIL wouldn't be able to keep adjusting all these different regulators etc. I am now the most awesome and best DIL in the world, she can water and not uproot her little flowers and outdoor stuff. ... show more

Over reduced PSI to 28. Claimed output is 40-50psi. Photos show PSI from faucet with/without regulator.

  • Replace washers, install after water filter
Have had no problems. This is a second I got for a spare. Before I even use it I replace the black washers with after market tan ones. Always had trouble with black ones on everything leaking. Tan are solf and flexible and do not have those 3 nibs on outside of washer. I then coat both sides with Vaseline. These are not made to be used alone or before filter. I just went and purchased a house filter from my home improvement store. Kind of a pain adding adapters for 3/4" garden hose through as my filter is outside. Helps to do it at purchase. Choose filter size, 10 micron I use, and put this after filter. ... show more
