  • Lemon Grass Oil Is A Proven Swarm Lure
Lemon Grass Oil is one of the ingredients in the Camas Honey Bee Swarm Lure, so I know it will work. Every year at least one of my hives swarms. I have been able to recover some, but most of the time, they settle too high up in a tree to safely get to them, or they fly off into the sunrise. I am looking forward to using the lure in two swarm traps this coming spring. (It is the end of December right now.) A professional beekeeper I know will also be trying it. I will report back with our findings. ... show more

  • Seems a high aroma lure.
Quality in packaging and pride of product. I can say the aroma is strong in this lure and have no doubt the bees will find it. Still winter here so still interested in using this spring. Maybe get back all the bees that swarmed on me last year and the hives never requeened or became queenright even after purchase of queens and the wax moths eventually had their way. ... show more

  • Sweet smell
I have a great deal of fruit and citrus trees, last year I didn't get much fruit from any of them so I am hoping to lure more bees to the area. I have a few "bee houses" and I did put those out and sprayed them but haven't seen any activity. I will try again in the spring and update then. I'm not sure how long the spray is good for once it is open, or if it goes bad at all. ... show more

  • This smells great and is all natural
I cannot say if this will attract swarms or not as it is currently in the fall here. This does get a positive reaction from the few bees left this year and I feel confident it is a good choice to attract a swarm next summer. This has the right ingredients to to do the job and is made here in the US. I will not hesitate to put this to use. ... show more

  • Camas Pollinator Supply Honey Bee Swarm Lure Review.
Pros: Effective Swarm Attraction: The Camas Pollinator Supply Honey Bee Swarm Lure is designed to naturally attract honey bee swarms to your beekeeping setup. Many beekeepers find it to be effective in luring swarms to a new hive or colony. Convenient Size: The 2oz bottle size is practical and provides enough lure for multiple swarm-catching attempts. It's easy to store and use as needed. Natural Ingredients: This swarm lure is made from natural ingredients, which is a positive feature for beekeepers who prefer to avoid synthetic or chemical attractants. Easy Application: Applying the lure is straightforward. Beekeepers can use it with swarm traps, bait hives, or other setups designed to capture swarms. Supports Beekeeping Practices: Attracting swarms naturally can be an essential aspect of sustainable beekeeping, allowing beekeepers to expand their colonies without purchasing bees. Cons: Effectiveness Can Vary: While many beekeepers have success with this swarm lure, it's important to note that its effectiveness can vary depending on factors such as local bee populations, weather conditions, and other environmental variables. Regular Reapplication: Beekeepers may need to reapply the swarm lure periodically to maintain its attractiveness, especially in regions with high competition for swarms. Price Consideration: The cost of purchasing swarm lures can add up over time, particularly for those with multiple hives. Beekeepers should consider this in their budget planning. No Guarantee: It's essential to remember that, like any swarm lure, there's no guarantee of success. Attracting swarms depends on various factors, and beekeepers should have realistic expectations. In summary, the Camas Pollinator Supply Honey Bee Swarm Lure offers an effective and natural solution for beekeepers looking to attract honey bee swarms to their hives. Its convenient size, easy application, and use of natural ingredients make it a practical choice for those practicing sustainable beekeeping. However, its effectiveness can vary, and beekeepers should be prepared for the variability in swarm attraction. This product can be a valuable tool for beekeepers looking to expand their colonies and contribute to pollinator conservation efforts. ... show more

  • Hoping to catch a swarm
I hope this works well next spring, when I will use it in my Nuc and at my swarm trap entrance. Spraying it onto some end-of-the-season bee balm definitely attracted some pollinators today, so here’s hoping it attracts a swarm. My bees swarmed this summer, so it’d be nice to repopulate the hive without having to buy more. ... show more

  • Smells similar to my other lures - did not see a lot of action but bad time of year for that
I ordered this to help bait my bee traps but unfortunately it is late summer and honeybees are not normally looking to swarm so I can't fully test this out. I did spray some on a trap of mine and it is easy to spray a fine mist just like other lures. It is the same size as another name brand lure that cost about $15 more that I know works. This lure does not smell as strong with lemongrass and has a spearmint mint mixed in with it too. When I sprayed it on my trap I did not see a single bee come and visit. Normally I get a few but nothing - again it is not really the ideal time of year. I plan on using this on half my traps next year compared to my other lure and see which ones has a better success rate. I will update the overall rating and the success rate when spring comes next year. Overall, this is a lemongrass based lure that is easy to spray, made in the USA, and is cheaper than you can get it elsewhere. All that is left is how good it is at luring bees - to be continued.... ... show more

  • Neat idea
Unfortunately, it is the wrong time of year to attract swarms so I haven’t been able to test it. I did spray it outside and watched to see if any bees came as other reviewers did. Unlike them, I didn’t really see a response, despite bees being in the area. Might just have been the time or location. The little spray bottle it comes in sprays well. The spray is clear and smells kind of like vanilla frosting with a minty undertone. I think it is a cool idea even if I wasn’t able to really test it. ... show more
