There are three lines of stitching to keep it from coming totally undone but the bottom edge is fairly raw and will shed a fair amount (at least at first, no idea what they will be like in a year). My boyfriend really liked these shorts because they’re made of good material and have zippers too which is a neat add-on! I would definitely buy other colors for him since he really liked his first pair. We bought the medium first but it was too tight so I suggest going up one size.
