Does pretty darn good between the tee shot and the iron shots! Is a great middle fairway club! Works for keeping shots low if you want them low. Awesome for under trees or in the rough. Have discovered if swinging too hard, put the metal to it, it will slice with too much energy into it. Size makes it too easy to hit off of the toe. I rarely ever use my 3 or 5 wood anymore, so took them out of my bag! My Maverick is a 4. Can also go a good distance on the fairway, easily going 200 yards plus! I play golf 3 times a week and a 3 handicap at 72 years old. The Callaway Hybrid, 3 wood and Mavrik irons are a great addition to my game. The hybrid is awesome. I hit it pretty far for an old guy. It has a sweet, sweet spot and the feel of the swing is great. They're a beautiful set of clubs and I also bought the Mavrik Staff bag and Callaway soft golf balls.
