Holds a charge well, was alot cheaper ythan the crappey replacement we purchased several years ago here and it died and wouldn't recharge. I have five cats, two dogs, so I LOVE my Platinum stick vacuum and use it 2-3 times a week. It does the trick!!! And other than the dogs constantly attacking it when it's running, 😀, this second battery is a Godsend!!!

My ancient Hoover Linx is the only cordless vacuum I've ever really liked and I was sad when the battery failed. I bought this new battery and cleaned out every part of my vacuum and it's up and running again. Thank you for making this battery CaliHutt. Things will be cleaner! If you have a Linx - be sure to take the whole base off and clean the pathway and the rollers. I've noticed that if it plugs it's always between the base and the main body of the vacuum.

This battery was useless after one month of minimal use. I purchased it in June. By July it only ran 2 minutes after a full charge. Then it didn’t charge at all. Total waste of money. I purchased another battery from a different company a year ago that was 10 dollars more and it still works well. Should have stuck with them!

I just finished my second charge and use cycle on this battery. It does work, but it's obviously not as good as the original. The main issue is that it doesn't appear to have any power regulation built into it. The original batteries seem to have a voltage regulator built into them. This matters because these power packs are made of five lithium ion cylinder cells (18650 models) which are rated at 3.7v each. But the way batteries work means they're actually at 4.2v when fully charged, and considered fully discharged when voltage drops to around 2.8v. The original battery has a voltage regulator to convert the output from the pack to 18v steadily, pulling less amps when it has a fresh 4.2v battery, and gradually increasing amp drain as the voltage drops so it can maintain 18v output. This pack however just goes ahead and pumps out 21v (4.2v x 5) when it's fully charged, which makes the vaccum really powerful for a minute or so. But once the voltage on the pack starts dropping, the motor slows down more and more. Five 18650 batteries at the 2.8v cutoff is only 14v total, so you'll notice your vaccum really working great for a minute or two, then slowing down to normal for a few minutes, and then really dragging before it dies. This behavior is bad for the suction and brush motors and means you get less usable time from the device per charge. But it's the only option thanks to Hoover refusing to sell replacement batteries now that they 'upgraded' to a new lineup. As far as longevity goes, I've only used the battery twice so far, but given the lack of power regulation and the low price, I'm betting the 18650 cells are not high quality Samsung, Sony, LG, or Panasonic models. They're likely the ultra cheap off brand models, which have a higher failure rate, so the chances of the pack spontaneously dying due to a cell defect is pretty high.
