I think the first question to consider when buying cotton sheets is understanding the difference between sateen and percale weaves. Do you want your sheets to feel as soft as possible? Go with a higher thread count (400–800) sateen sheet. The 4-over-1 weave gives the sheet an almost silky texture. The trade-off is that sateen sheets tend to sleep warmer than their percale counterparts. Do you want your sheets to be as breathable as possible? Then go with a lower thread count (180–400) percale sheet. The traditional 1-over-1 plain weave allows heat to escape more easily. The trade-off here is that percale sheets usually don’t feel as substantial or as soft as sateen sheets due to the simpler weave pattern. It is possible to find sheets that are both soft and airy — but that’s going to cost you a pretty penny. I’m a hot sleeper, so I prefer percale sheets. Percale tends to have a strong price-to-quality correlation. With sateen sheets, you can sometimes get away with lower-quality cotton because the weave masks it. But with percale, since all sheets use the same basic 1-over-1 weave, the main differentiator is the quality of the cotton itself. Higher-end percale sheet sets use long-staple or extra-long-staple cotton, which can be spun into long, fine yarns for maximum breathability and softness. Cheaper percale sheets often feel scratchy because they use lower-quality cotton. Some manufacturers try to hide this by brushing the sheets to raise the softest fibers to the surface — but in my experience, this comes at the expense of breathability. This specific sheet set is the best value percale set I’ve found to date. Is it as good as a $500 percale sheet set? No. But it’s still relatively smooth, light, and airy — which checks all the boxes for me. It’s definitely an improvement over the organic percale version, which feels brushed — slightly softer, but also slightly warmer. Also, these sheets seem a bit larger than the organic percale version and fit my mattress better. Would recommend. Would repurchase.

A definite five star product. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have used Egyptian cotton sheets for many years. These are absolutely fantastic. I prefer the percale weave as opposed to the sateen. I like the crispness of the percale as opposed to the sateen which is not as airy and is generally warmer. These are definite go to….. the only ones I could find on Amazon with the Egyptian cotton and percale mix. You really have to read the fine print. Very crisp and soft if that’s what you’re looking for.

So happy with these sheets! I was looking for some good quality soft cotton sheets. Spent a lot of time searching and reading reviews. I'm not a fan of the silk or sateen. When I took them out of the package I feared they'd feel like silk in bed. I want to cuddle in them without slipping around like silk sheets. Almost returned them but decided to at least wash them and give them a try. Wow! Love them! They have a cool sensation when climbing into bed and they are very breathable. My husband asked how much I spent lol He was in disbelief when I told him what I spent. He really thought they would have been more expensive.
