A couple of months ago, I decided to learn how to play guitar. As a total beginner, I wanted a guitar kit that was good enough to sound nice, and allow me to focus on developing skills. But at the same time, I did not want something too expensive. After doing some reading, I learned that Cayaha has carved out a niche for people at my level with guitars that are good quality, but keeping the price realistic for beginners. The general impression upon opening the kit is very positive. The guitar has very nice fit and finish. All parts are smooth and well-crafted. And it looks good. It does not appear to be a "cheap guitar." Tuning it was pretty simple. I found some great videos online that take you step-by-step getting an electric guitar set up. This one does it all easily, and offers pleasing feedback to all the set-up steps. Playing the guitar is going very well so far. The "action" is right: the strings are a comfortable distance from the fret board, which has allowed me to get through early lessons without unnecessary wear on my fingers! From what I understand, getting the right "action" is one of the most important factors in a guitar. This one has it. The weight is just about right -- heavy enough to have a presence, but not too much. Again, I'm a beginner, so take what I'm saying with that in mind. The included amplifier is kind of weak, so don't expect to use it for a performance! But as a beginner, I'm not doing any performances quite yet anyway. With that reality, the included amplifier works well as a practice device, allowing me to hear my mistakes clearly enough, and to have positive experiences with those moments of success. When I'm more advanced, I will probably get a better amplifier. Based on my experiences so far, I'm very confident that this guitar will be a good one for me to get through the early learning experiences. But I think it will also be good for when I reach an intermediate level someday. I recommend it.

The media could not be loaded. I am genuinely impressed by this guitar starter kit. If you're someone who has a genuine interest in learning to play but doesn't want to invest a lot of money up front, this set has everything you need to start learning on your own or through professional lessons. The soft case gig bag not only houses the guitar, but it also has several pockets to store all of the accessories that come with it. I like that you can also carry it like a backpack. That's a welcome convenience. The small amp is the perfect size to use to practice if you're just getting started. It's listed as a 5-watt amp, but it can produce a surprisingly loud sound. Obviously, it's not something you'd use in a live setting, but it's the ideal size for practicing scales or learning chords. And, if you want to play loud but don't want to disturb anyone, there's a headphone jack in the back that you can plug into. The guitar itself looks fantastic in its classic black color. Plus, the design on the white pickguard really allows it to stand out. The included 1/4" cables plug easily into both the guitar and the amp input to provide a good quality sound. A few other positives that stand out in this set: •An extra set of strings - Always good to have on hand. •Whammy bar - Something I wasn't expecting, but a nice addition. •Clip-on tuner - While not always completely accurate, these types of tuners are almost commonplace among all guitar players. •Adjustable Checker Board Guitar Strap - The black and white design complements the guitar, and it is easily adjustable. •An Assortment of Picks - Although it would be nice to have different gauges of picks, the ones included work just fine. Again, for a starter guitar and amp, I thought it had a decent tone and provided more volume than expected. Plus, you can push a button on the amp that allows you to toggle between a clean tone and overdrive. Considering it's a guitar designed for beginners, I don't have a lot of criticisms to point out. As I previously mentioned, the tuner is good but not always accurate. I had to adjust the tuning frequently, but I played using the strings that were already on the guitar. Putting on a new set of strings might help alleviate the issue of having to adjust as much. There's already so much included that I hate to even suggest adding anything more. However, including tools to change strings and instructions on how to do that would be really beneficial for new players. There is a specific way strings need to be put on a guitar, so a QR code to a video or even a small instructional paper would be ideal. Other than those minor notes, I would definitely recommend this guitar set for someone who wants to learn how to play. This has just about everything you need to get started with playing guitar. Considering the amount included, the price is not only reasonable but also more than fair. This would make an excellent gift for younger players who need a starting point or for those interested in learning but not ready to invest in a higher-end instrument.

OK, it's relevant to know that I am not an experienced guitar player. I plucked around on an acoustic guitar about twenty years ago, and that's it. With that in mind, this is a review done by a guitar neophyte. I simply don't have enough experience with guitars in general to be specific in this review the same way I can with some different items. So, that out of the way: this thing is AWESOME. It's beautiful and appears to be well-made. While I don't have a lot of guitar experience, I do have a lot of orchestral instrument experience, and this guitar feels like quality in my hands. The finish is lovely, everything is smooth and heavy in a way that speaks of quality to me. Do I know how to play it yet? No, no I do not. I have messed around with it a bit, but it's going to take a while before I feel comfortable saying that I know how to play the guitar. However, that day is coming, and it's all going to be thanks to this absolutely gorgeous Cahaya electric guitar! No hesitation recommending this to someone looking for a beginner guitar or getting a beginner guitar as a gift for someone interested in experimenting. This set comes with everything you need to get started. The guitar, a little amp (so cute!), extra strings, a strap, and even a little tuner! The bag is very nice and has pockets for all your extra stuff. A+, five stars.
