Description

Kompresso = compress + espresso Cafflano kompresso is the world's most compact and the lightest portable authentic espresso maker that uses a hydraulic system complied with Pascal's principle to boost the extraction force of espresso. Pascal's principle (the principle of transmission of fluid-pressure) is the principle in fluid Mechanics that States a change in pressure at any point in an enclosed fluid at rest is transmitted undiminished to all points in the fluid. This hydraulic Compressor of Cafflano kompresso is designed to retain high-pressure over 9 bar until espresso is fully extracted. In addition, the dual-mode pressure (pressing and pulling handles) maximizes the weight-force. • Incredible for the price point
I've had this for over a month and it has produced some of the best espresso I've ever had. A few notes: - You need to apply serious pressure to get this into actual espresso range (eg, 50+ lbs for 20 seconds) - Because of how uncontrolled things are, you're unlikely to be super consistent. If you're really into consistency, I'd suggest looking at a lever machine with a pressure gauge. - Personally, I like that this means I sometimes get different cups and the great ones feel special - For best results you'll need a great grinder. I got decent results from a Baratza Encore, but really started getting results that made me smile when I used a 1zpresso jx-pro grinder. ... show more

  • Works great
Works as expected. You can actually produce crema once you get the grind and compression dialed in.

  • I love it
Takes some fine tuning. I’ve made bad espresso, but also made some fantastic espresso. I’m now pulling decent to great for a week or two. Great option if you want to get into the world or espresso without super high investment, or espresso on the go

  • It's really hard to get a good cup, so it's not really suitable for coffee brewing while traveling.
I'd give a single star only for the text "Cafflano" on the bottom of a cup which(for a second!) you're supposed to use as a tamper. How can I distribute coffee evenly when I can't rotate the tamper? I get a mess every time I do this, coffee sticks to the bottom of that little cup, I get ditches, which water uses later to go trough. And I even don't mention that diameter of that cup is not equal to the diameter of a coffee filter. This sucks. I was able to make a second cup of something similar to what espresso tastes when I used extra fine grind. Unfortunately I think that having a mill with yourself while traveling doesn't leave you any gain from Kmopresso's little wight. Personally I liked Wacaco Nanopresso much more than this :-\ This sad. Kompresso is 150 gramms lighter. ... show more

  • Nice
I tried to buy this from Amazon but they sent me wrong item,so I purchased elsewhere. That said, I’m very impressed. Not new to espresso, have a barista express. This needs a fine grind and some dial-in. Fun to use...do need some hand strength.

  • Cheap material, does not last
It made great espresso for about the first 4 or 5 times we used it, then the seals on the metal filters did not seat up properly any longer and it let hot water pour out of the sides and burn my hand. Threw it out after that.

  • Wanted to like this amazing travel device
I really wanted to like this well-made little travel espresso maker. Unfortunately I will be returning it because it simply doesn't perform as advertised. At best, it is a very small french press style coffee maker. If you are not looking for espresso, but simply a good little travel coffee maker, this may make you very happy. It is compact, well-made, pretty intuitive, and cleans up easy. However, if you are looking for crema, or to pull a real shot or two of espresso, look elsewhere. This device while cute, cannot make a good cup of espresso. After repeated tries, watching YouTube videos, changing grinds, beans, water temperature and pre-soaking, as well as changing pressure on the plunger I have to say that I at least cannot dial it in after many tries. It also leaves a fair amount of water in the chamber (no "puck"). I already have a mini-french press, so another one is not what I was looking for. ... show more
