I heard about Cafe Du Monde coffee on a cooking video. The person describing the coffee made it sound so good that I ordered a can. The smell is a nice deep coffee smell and the grind is a little more course than some of the other on the shelf coffees. The flavor is really mild, not weak. The chicory doesn't affect the flavor and in my opinion there's no bitterness at all. My first cup, I made too sweet. I use coffee syrups and a pack of Splenda with my regular coffee. This combination made it way to sweet. I had to add more coffeee bc it was undrinkable. Also milk or cream makes it mild enough so you don't really even need a sweetener. I'm also like my coffee very strong and add a shot of espresso along with a 1/2 pump of syrup and 1/2 packet of Splenda. This makes my perfect cup. The downsides, I have to drag out my French press. I have a very easy to use Nespresso. Hardly any clean-up. I also bought these little bags that I patiently filled with coffee bc I HATE cleaning the grounds out of the press. I review those in another post. I will be this again but not for daily use. The cost of the coffee and filling those little bags is a bit of a drag. We're making a hard switch from a Ninja coffee maker to Vietnamese phin filter coffee using Cafe Du Monde as our tester brand until we order some Nguyen. Never made phin filter coffee before so we thought for sure it would come out bad. Surprisingly, that first cup of this coffee with just sweetened condensed milk was like heaven. Rich, smooth, full of so much amazing flavor. It's not Viet coffee, but the quality is comparable if not better. The flavor is addicting and I find myself craving coffee like never before. This coffee has a strong bold rich flavor, it’s not my cup of tea when it comes to flavor but it would be good for someone who loves rich coffee. One plus is that it doesn’t have an acidic taste. I tried it was ok I just like normal coffee but I am a star bucks Italian and French Dark roast fan boy. So though this was good I probably won't be reordering... don't mean you shouldn't try it though

I was thrilled when I saw this on Amazon and had no idea I could order coffee from the famed Cafe Du Monde! The coffee is amazing, and we use it as our "weekend coffee" as a treat over the regular daily drinker stuff out of our Keurig coffee pot. Amazing aroma and bold taste. We love this stuff and are excited to have company in from out of town to make some for them in the morning.
