  • Compete Mini Drone Kit
●Alink RC Controller ○The Alink's Joysticks felt very smooth and of high quality. I use the pinching stick method to operate the joysticks, and worked fine for flying. ○Switches worked smoothly and easy to identify the location without have to look after short time of operation. ●Ascent Googles ○The Ascent Goggles worked well, and the image was clear and jitter free. ○The OSD information were placed nicely and very readable. ○The headband needed a lot of adjustment and had to push through the cushion pillow to fit for me. After the adjustment, the Goggles are comfortable to ware with very little external light coming through the sides, which did not affect the FPV image nor flying. ○The menus and the 5 way switch on the Ascent Goggles were clear and easy to operate. Very similar to the Walksnail Google X menu system. ○The manual mentioned "included eyeglass frames" but were not inside my kit. After contacting the CADDx FPV support, they informed me that this item is optional and can be ordered. The manual will be updated with the correct discraption. ○The SD card on the Ascent Goggles is easy to operate, and initial recordings were very good and clear. Besides the video MP4 files, it also records OSD and SRT data. ●Case, Batteries & charging ○It's great that you are using Li-Ion batteries as this is not a race drone and longevity with increased safety, compared to LiPo batteries, is a major plus for new fliers. ○I find the battery system very nice and comprehensive. Liked the 2S charger and included 30W USB charger. ○I liked the whole packaging. It looks great, the materials fill nice and they have great finish. All pieces fit nicely in their compartments and easy to identify. ●Protos Drone ○Materials and finish is excellent. Component fitting is very good. Provided spare battery holder, props and screws is nice to have too! ○Materials look strong and after a few bumps nothing broke and the drone did not show any flying changes. ○Camera position was fine for my initial flying. ○Liked that the camera lens is resisted in the drone body, so will be protected from most collisions with solid objects! ○Battery engagement takes little practice but is very solid and unless something breaks, it will not fall from the drone. ●Flight ○Indoor flight was easy in Position mode and very stable. ○Outdoor flight even with a breeze was possible and predictable. ○Position mode worked good over most tested surfaces, except artificial turf. ○Angle Mode is very predictable and easy to fly around. Overall I believe this is a very nice solid woop drone kit for a beginner to intermediate drone flyer with a lot of nice features from a complete and good quality package that can fly out of the box. I own and fly a few custom-built drones using Walksnail Moonlight VTX, GM2 and GM3 gimbals on custom designed platforms on AOS and Holybro frames, but as you know, these require experienced soldering, electronics knowledge and elaborate tuning for the flight controller (Ardupilot and BetaFlight), GPS, VTX etc. which can take up to a few months depending on the project's complexity. ... show more

  • Check your batteries....
Nice drone horrible support Everything came nicely packaged however after charging the batteries the goggles didnt power up, instructions are lacking. After troubleshooting the problem down to the battery customer support keeps running in circles. Zero power coming from the battery to power the goggles and they want a video to prove it....so guess the video will go here later ... show more

  • Better to build your own
Issues with lossing control. It would be fine then out of nowhere it would start listing towards the rear and you would have to drop it out of the sky before it got to carried away.

  • Good beginner kit, get a simulator
Great beginner FPV drone. Word of caution, I have flown camera drones like the Mavic and small toy type quad copters. That being said, I SUCK at flying this thing on angle mode. I almost lost it when I got brave and switched from position to angle. I panicked and disarmed about 3 or 4 stories in the air. Learn how to turn on the beeper.... I did not and I was lucky to find it, about 500 yards from where I started. It landed on the battery, of course, and cracked it some. They are now selling extra batteries on the Caddx website for $10.99 each. I requested another charging hub and it looks like that was judt put on the site as well for $19.99. I highly recommend you buy the Liftoff drone flight simulator. The remote included in this kit will connect and you can practice without risk to your drone. I got cocky after a few simulator hours, I was not ready. Luckily, it's tough. The kit comes with everything to get started out of the box, even a nice feeling case. Everything feels well made and good quality. My only complaint is the goggles sit on my big honking nose kinda hard, and it's just hard plastic in that area and it's very uncomfortable out of the box. I added a piece of foam with an adhesive back and that helped tremendously. The little drone is durable for sure. Don't be like me and decide to try it out indoors for the first time lol. Like all little drones, it's sensitive. I hit the ceiling pretty darn hard, a few times. Once hard enough to shut down the drone. But it doesn't have a scratch. And luckily it has an extra battery case if you do crack it. A couple of things to note since the user's manual is tiny and kinda hard to read; the battery charger must be used with a usbc fast charger port, one is included, the white double ended USBC cord and charger box. If you try to charge with a regular usb charger it will flash all lights on the 3 ports. Also, the drone will not arm if the throttle stick isn't all the way down, it will just flash red and beep. The video quality is good. It's far too windy to test outside today, so I'll have to report back on video range. I saw on the Caddx website the presale for the Acent video transmission unit that will work with these goggles should you choose to build your own fpv drone. I ordered one to play around with. All in all it's a great starter FPV drone in my opinion, but I've only had camera gps drones in the past. I'll likely upgrade in the future, but for the price I'm very happy with the Protos drone. Tech support replays within a day and has been helpful. ... show more

  • Won't arm after first flight
Got to fly it once then it wouldn't arm anymore and had to send back.

  • Digital system worth every penny
I had to return it. The digital system is kind of worth All the money you spend on it . It is a bit expensive but you do get literally everything including a digital goggle system. I had to return it because one of my motors crapped out on me. It was a pretty good RTF kit.
