I put this up by myself in less than 15 minutes (BTW I'm a 70 year old female). It was a test run to make sure I could do it by myself and make sure all the parts were there and working. It took a little bit of strength to pull the poles out and pop the button into place, but after the first one it became easier. I'm about 5 ft 9 and can stand even at the sides. Because I'm tall it wasn't a struggle to get the rain fly on. I also had a new queen size mattress to test so I popped it in and inflated it. I do agree with other reviewers that say this tent is better suited to two people than four if you're going to use a queen size mattress. This was the camping trip I decided I was going to skip the 9-in Coleman mattress and a tent I cannot stand up in, I debated for quite a while between the Caddis and the Gazelle T4, The Caddis won because it has steel poles and a traditional front entry. Unfortunately, they ship it with the kind of tent stakes that are sure to bend while you're putting them in the ground. I anticipated that and ordered heavy duty stakes to avoid the issue. So far, the only con I can see is like most tents it's a struggle to get it back into its carry bag. Edit, I did have the opportunity to take it out camping and found that there were multiple places where the zipper was sewn in but the stitching had missed the mark. That was also one place where a kind of binding that the zipper is sewn to was not sewn down and that was the place that kept catching. I could have fixed it but for this price I decided to return it as defective. It is fast and easy, it is stable- even in the wind. But the craftsmanship was less than what I wanted for the price I paid. I may reorder and hope to get one that has no defects but I haven't made up my mind yet. ... show more

I did a lot of research on a tent for a Boy Scout camp out. This is what I choose. It worked well. But it was not without issues. I would recommend but buyers should know these pros and cons Pros It does go up in 30 seconds, no exaggeration The height is nice to have, you can stand up inside Construction was durable It rained and the rain cover worked as it should Cons It’s very heavy - all those parts that make it easy to set up, add up It’s not very compact once down It takes 30 secs to put and down, but 10 min to get it in the bag The door zipper snags on the fabric around it - avoidable once you know but annoying If you’re not very tall you have to partially collapse the tent to get rain cover over the top The floor is not water proof A bit pricey You could fit 6 people but I wouldn’t - more like 4 people max if you have any stuff you want inside with you None of the cons were fatal and other tents have their issues too. ... show more

Just used this tent for a jeep trip to Point Sublime, North Rim, Grand Canyon. Camped 10 feet from the edge. Tent was great. Fast and easy to set-up. Windows and top panels were a mesh that kept the bugs out, and let air in. We could see the moon and stars through the mesh. You can also use the rain cover and zip the window flaps to seal out the cold/rain if necessary. We did not have rain, so cannot verify "waterproofness." Tent fit two large cots with a 2.5 ft isle between them. More people if they sleep on the floor. Outstanding two-person tent. The rain-seal-flap on the door was somewhat annoying occasionally catching in the zipper, but it was far from a deal breaker. ... show more

    • Great but Zipper is Frustrating

I’ve had two other pop-up tents like this. This one is by far the most sturdy and well-built. Set-up is quick and love all the storage pockets. Rainfly is great and easy to attach. Only issue I have run into is with zipper. The blue fabric flap that protects the zipper from rain is aggravating. The zipper easily gets caught in it, requiring both hands to fix and rezip. Sounds petty until you only have one hand free. I’d guess the issue happens 95% of the time I open or close the zipper. ... show more

We researched family camping tents for a long time before we decided to go with this one, and we don't regret it. We weren't looking for a lightweight hiking tent; we just wanted something spacious that was easy to set up and somewhat waterproof with large screen windows so we could embrace the outdoors when the weather was nice. I know it boasts to be a 4 person tent, but in all honesty, 4 people could probably sleep in it with bags, but you couldn't do 4 adults with mattresses or cots. 2 Adults and 2 children could sleep comfortably though. But, you'd need to keep your luggage in the truck. It does set up easily and quickly. One person can set this tent up by themselves, even if you don't have much experience with camping. A good 1st-time camp tent. It has a rain fly to keep off heavy rains as I found out when I took this tent out camping my first weekend of having it. It rained all weekend and I had to set it up in a downpour, which is why I didn't get any video of how quickly it set up. I was able to set it up and climb inside without getting too soaked. The zipper is a huge pita, it gets stuck too easily, and although not stated I did expect the floor to be at least somewhat water resistant. If there is any moisture under the tent it does infilltrate.
