  • Great “Nana and Granddaughter” time!
Size: 4 Dry Quarts
I ordered 5 succulents, a set of 5 pots, and a bag of succulent soil from Amazon recently. Yesterday, my 6 year old granddaughter and I spent the morning repotting all of our plants into their new homes with fresh, clean soil. The succulent soil is lightweight and easy to transfer from bag to pot using just a soup spoon, and my granddaughter was able to learn important lessons about conservation and the difference between the types of soil and nutrients that different plants use, just as people and different types of animals need different nutrients, so do plants of different types. Thank you for a fun day of bonding and learning! ... show more

I used for this crazy cactus that’s is growing quickly. I got tons of invisible splinters in hands cause gloves not good enough. The dirt seems wonderful. Now to look for cactus gloves.

My bag came ripped and got soil everywhere. Im so sad because I lost 1/3 of the soil in the bag. As for the quality of the soil, its very nice and good for succulents. I wish my bag wasnt ripped

  • Seems ok
Size: 4 Dry Quarts
My succulents seem to be doing ok in this. Lots of peat and perlite. It drains ok, but because of the peat it does get quite hydrophobic. I usually let my succulents dry out between waterings, so I have to do a short watering, and then come back 10 minutes later to water again after the soil has been wetted and is actually absorbing some water. My other succulent mixes seem to drain better and have less peat. ... show more

  • Worked well for some, not for others
Size: 4 Dry Quarts
I've been trying to grow succulents for the last 2 years. Despite what I've been told, they are very temperamental. I've learned that water can quickly kill off one. And now that I think I've mastered the watering, I've been trying to figure out why else some of mine don't thrive. I thought I'd try to change the soil to see if that might help. I've got a lot of plants that are thriving in this soil. But I also have a few that are not happy and I still don't know what the problem is. This soil is pourous and very light weight. But it isn't as sandy as I would have expected a soil for succulents to be. Again, I don't know whether the issue is the soil or something else I'm doing wrong. I think I need a succulent mentor to tell me why some do so well and others die within a month of getting them. ... show more
