These are the cheapest adjustable dumbbells I could find. The one I bought ranges from 10 lb to 50 lb, but you could do half-way increments 15, 25, 35, and 45 if you select one side to be higher than the other. This will give you an imbalanced dumbbell. At least the option is there if balance doesn't matter much for the specific exercise. The weights jostle slightly when in use, and I'm a bit concerned about accidentally pulling the tab during exercise and dropping a plate. This product does not have a "dock lock" where the dumbbell needs to be docked to unlock the weights. So far, my workaround has been to rotate the dumbbell such that the pull tabs face away from the body and clothing such that it's highly improbable to accidentally loosen a plate. The plates are lubricated, and I assume you'll need to apply lubrication if sliding becomes stiff at some point. Packaging used styrofoam and seems adequate. This SOLID Cast Iron Adjustable Dumbbell Set is Very High Quality and Super-Easy/Quick to Adjust/Change the Weights. They are Very Heavy: 55-Pouns Max Weight-each. They are Very Large and the Adjustment Levers really do take just a few seconds to 'change' the Weight. In order to Select/Change the Weight, they MUST be inserted in the Floor Support Cradles/Stands. These Stands are Super Durable and Very Strong [High Quality/Density Plastic]. Included is a Work-Out Log and Easy to Understand 'User' Manual. Actually, this Set is Super-Easy to Adjust and Select the Desired Weight. The Contoured Hand Grips fit Very Well in My Large Hands. Very Easy to Maneuver thru the Workout Cycle. The Weights are Very Heavy @ Full Capacity: 55-pounds each. I have several Sets of 'standard' [different weight] Dumbbells. This Pair of Adjustable Dumbbells Replaces ALL of them [for Me]. I'll keep the smaller Dumbbells for Younger Kids/Family Members ... who can't utilize the heavier/larger weight within this New Byzoom Fitness Set. using them in my garage gym for a few weeks now. Ive gotta say theyre way better than I expected for the price. The polygonal bases are legit stable so no more weights rolling away when I do renegade rows or pushups on the floor like with my old round set. The micro loading setup is the real winner tho. Those extra 2.5LB plates give you so many precise options and its perfect for progressive overload without buying a ton of separate pairs. Saves alot of space in my small setup and the dumbbells actually shorten up at lighter weights which feels way more natural during curls. Build quality holds up great too the cast iron feels dense and that patented lock keeps things completely silent even during explosive lifts. No rattles at all which was my biggest complaint with cheaper adjustables. Only downside is it takes a bit longer to adjust than like power blocks or something because you have to drop in the base but we’re talking like 10-30 seconds so it’s not a big deal - I just do it between working sets - are they as good as fixed dumbells? Absolutely not. But are they just about as good as it gets for an adjustable.. yes. Best value Ive seen for a solid pair like this. 5 stars easy. ... show more
