I wanted this not for a balcony but rather to cover the top of a stretch of vinyl fencing that runs right next to a walking path. This type of fence has open slats along the top 12" so that even though it's a 6' fence it's in essence a 5' fence in terms of privacy from onlookers. This was easy to attach at the top using some white zip ties and using the grommets on the bottom I attached a stretch of LED lights that had been higher on the fence. I'm not unhappy with the look and from the outside looking in it's pretty low key, just being visible through those slat openings. It has a heavy duty feel that appears ready to last. Happy enough with the quality and performance of the item that I've already ordered a couple more for other stretches of the fence.

This screen will visually block most of what's behind it, but air can still circulate. That's the perfect combination for me. I didn't want to block the breeze completely, but I want privacy. This is the best of both worlds. It will catch very strong wind, like a sail, so keep that in mind if it's not well supported, but it is woven loosely enough that air can get through. It blocks the sun, but lets the light through. I love this thing. Pictured are the heavy duty zip ties that come with it, and a look at the very strong grommets. There are enough of them to anchor it wherever you want.

Needed this to cover an opening around my deck and didn’t want to go through a lot of construction. The space was only 2’ tall and this worked perfectly. I was able to secure it under the backside of the top of the deck and then at the bottom at each of the support posts. The stitching was nice and thick and allowed me to utilize screws and washers where I didn’t have grommets to anchor the shade down. If this is the size you need, it’s a solid fix for privacy as it has great opacity to keep things from being see through, but it still has breathability so the wind doesn’t pull it everywhere. Secure it well and I think it will work well for your needs too!

In the first picture, you can see how the product looks in person (by picture). The price isn't cutting it, for what you get, and there are far more options for covering public areas you wanna cover up. In the second photo, you can see I have another privacy screen behind this one. The leaves on that one were too sparse for what we wanted to keep private. The thinness is something that isn't really a big deal to me, but the photos that are posted on the product page leave me wanting. For the current price (as of this review), I'd pass.

We got this to fill in the gap between our new patio cover and the roof of our add-on, as the afternoon sun beats down on us between the gap. The weave is tight enough that it filters the direct sun perfectly so we aren't blinded by harsh rays under our cover. We have a lot of winds and the weave allows plenty of airflow so the cover hasn't so far been at risk of being ripped away. I am hoping this means in the summer it will allow heat to escape as well. It looks great and was easy to use. I have no doubt it would provide great privacy since it blocks the sun so well.

You can't see through this yet it does allow a little light through. I feel confident enough to layout now on my deck and know my neighbors won't see. The fabric isn't as stiff as I expected. It's quite flexible and has a little stretch to it. The stitching seems good and the grommets are secure. It comes with small zip ties so securing it was quick and easy. In the long shot I added, you can see to the far right where I doubled the fabric around the last couple ballasts because it was just a little long than I needed. I probably could have made that neater but it was a fast adjustment that worked for the time being. I'll definitely be ordering a couple more.

It was a good height so that we could allow the outdoor cats we feed to climb under and be protected from the wind,rain & snow while eating.
