This pump is a winner! This BV silver pump replaces a very expensive Specialized pump that lasted for 12 years. The old pump still works fine, but the cast aluminum base finally cracked and broke off on both sides and is unrepairable. I read the many reviews on this BV pump and was a bit skeptical about it being of equivalent quality. To my pleasant surprise, it is actually a much better product. The design, build quality and fit & finish of the BV pump are top notch. The pump applies full pressure at the very beginning of the down-stroke. The operation is quite smooth with no undue squeaks, rattles or leaks. The pump base is plastic (probably nylon), but very rugged and well designed with lots of reinforcement. I expect it will last for years. The pressure guage is accurate at 45 lbs. and at 105 lbs. It inflates my mountain bike and road bike tires quickly and easily. I am very pleased that the dual Schrader/Presta valve head works flawlessly and it seals completely. I did notice that after 100 psi, the pumping action requires a fair bit more rigor. If inflating to the maximum 160 psi, you'll probably get quite a workout. I am very pleased with both the quality and performance of this very reasonably priced BV pump. With over 28,000 customer feedback postings (92% positive), obviously this pump is well recieved by the vast majority of buyers. This BV pump puts a smile on my face every time I use it. Highly recommended.

So far so good. I like the way it locks on to the tire stem. I also like the small grippers that hold the air tube when it's not in use. So far, no issues.

Good pump but the gauge reads about 5 psi low in the 35 - 40 psi range. I know this, as I've checked it against a calibrated gauge.

This is the regular size floor pump with pressure gauge. Used this pump the first day to add air to two TREK mountain bikes. One with presta valves and one with schrader valves. The pump worked well on both valves without any problems. The only negative was that the pressure gauge was about 3lbs off (at 40 lbs) when I checked the tires with other gauges. That is not a big deal to me as I always double check the pressure no matter which pump/gauge I am using. Due to the gauge being a little off I would give this pump 4 1/2 stars if that rating was available. All in all it seems to be a good pump.

I was a little worried after reading a couple of reviews saying they had a hard time using the pump for high pressure tires. I didn't have that problem at all. This pump is designed to pump all the way up and all the way down. If you try to make fast short pumps it is extremely hard to get air in the tire. I think my favorite part of this pump is the connector piece to the nozzle on the tire. I prefer presta valves but can't always find one in my area so I need to have a pump that works with both presta and schrader valves to make my life a little easier. This nozzle is labeled and is so super easy to use. It goes on without having to fight with it and when you take it off the air loss is very limited. I sometimes had to add air again when I took off the nozzle with my old pump. I like every part of this pump but the nozzle is the icing on the cake. It seems sturdy, the cylinder is made of metal, it's easy to stand on the bottom and pump, the hose looks to be made with a thick tubing, the needles stay clipped to the hose even when you pump- I was worried about taking them off and losing them- and the handle is comfortable too. I think it looks a lot nicer than my old pump and the center of balance is better on this one too. If you looked at my old one wrong it would fall over. Kidding but it would fall over with barely a touch. I had wanted a pump that day my old one broke but wasn't happy with the extremely poor selection of a pump in th $25 range and I try to stick to the rule of patience and only spend money on the one i want-whatever it happens to be. So I bought this one based on the level of stars and also the amount of reviews and I am very happy I bought this pump. Worth it for sure. Some other things I like are the marker on the gauge it uses so you can see when you have filled your tire. I use the wider 700 tires and don't have any problem to getting to 100psi. I like the color because it sticks out enough to see easily when you look for it but not so bright it feels like it's yelling at you. I am super pleased with this pump all around and highly recommend it.
