Broken before we even got to use it... we had to reassemble the entire motor before we could even start our experiments, that required the motor..... would like a refund tbh.

I removed one star due to the fact that the directions vary a bit from what is inside/put together already. The motor for this kit must have come detached from the paddle shaped base/tool at one point and because of that a couple of the experiments/directions don't really match up, or are difficult to complete. Some of the sticky pads also aren't the right shape according to directions so it led to some confusion with the directions as well. With that being said, this is an amazing little stem kit. My 5yo and I have had so much fun with this as every project is very simple to put together regardless of the "complexity" of it - kit's like this tend to overwhelm me, but this one has the directions laid out along with pictures that are very easy to follow. My 5yo has been able to use this with the little paddle and attached motor to mess around and experiment by himself with limited supervision without me being too concerned that he could get hurt or damage anything. This gives him some independence and self led learning that he often craves, so it's been really great! Pros: • Includes a lot of materials for some really cool experiments • Has very easy to follow directions with pictures - not overwhelming like some of these kits can be • Keeps you and child busy for hours while having fun • STEM friendly with safe self-led learning possible • Educational and easy to do • It's FUN for the nerdy type or homeschoolers Cons: • Needs two (2) AA batteries that aren't included • Directions have projects where motor isn't attached to the paddle, but it comes attached • Directions call for "round sticker pads" there were only squares in varying sizes • Sticky pads are permanent, this caused a bit of an issue for later experiments in the book Overall a wonderful science/STEM kit that I would absolutely purchase again regardless of the few caveats!
