This product works great on bottom of shower door to deflect water coming down the door glass. I had a metal deflected on door originally and a rubber seal on it failed, so this was an easy fix.

This item is identical to the original one that was installed on my shower door when my home was built 25 years ago. The original yellowed and hardened over time and this item was an exact replacement. The only problem was cutting it to the exact same length. I used a small saw but had difficulty keeping the cut perpendicular.

We had an issue with our stand shower leaking and it was causing a drywall issue. I found this and we were able to repair the shower without it costing an arm and a leg. It is a hard plastic so it is a little tough to slide onto the frame, but it was durable and easy to install. Once installed we cut it to the correct length easily.

First, thank you to all previous reviewers for their installation tips! I removed the old door seal and used it to mark the length on the new piece. I'm not a "handywoman" and had no idea where my hacksaw was buried in the garage, so I used what I had in the kitchen to cut the seal to the correct length. Ended up using a chef's knife to score the cut, and a serrated one to complete it. Ladies- your nail tools can be handy too as I used a heavy duty file (like the ones for acrylic nails) to soften the exposed edge in case it ever "accidentally" hits me in the ankle when opening/closing the shower door. 😊 Many commented on the extra length of the silicone under the seal but it fits perfectly - the height of my door lets the silicone just brush over the travertine so I didn't have to trim anything. I put about half of the length under the door and force fitted the seal up onto the door before hammering it the rest of the way in. Yes I absolutely used a soft mallet to bang that sucker into place! Fits like a glove and I know it won't budge. It is amazing to have a nice new CLEAR doorseal as the old one looked like it had been there 15 years - was completely yellowed and pieces underneath were randomly broken off. This seal is hard plastic including the lip that keeps the water away from the door and directs it back into the shower. The underside does have 2 rows of softer silicone that move more easily and brush along the bottom of the shower entry tile. Overall good value as this was one of the only seals I could find for 1/2 inch glass.

Okay small leakage

This replaced a 12 year old shabby door sweep perfectly. The old one came off easily. There are a couple of YouTube videos out there to help but it’s an easy job. Measure the glass thickness before ordering, most are 3/8”. You will need something more robust than household scissors to cut it however. I used some PVC pipe cutters I had, a set of anvil cutters or tin snips are a good option. A hacksaw can be used but will leave a rough edge that will need to be filed down. I used some foam glass cleaner to provide some lube for the new one. A bit of dish soap in water would also work. Do NOT tap or bang on the edge of the glass to help install as it can shatter. Use hand pressure only to snap it back on, starting at the hinge end.
