  • Great Backpack for Work and Travel
I’m really impressed with this backpack. It has plenty of room for my laptop, documents, chargers, and other everyday essentials without feeling bulky. The 1680D Oxford fabric feels durable and well-made, and I like that it is water resistant for extra protection. The water bottle pockets are also very convenient. It’s comfortable to carry and has a professional look that works well for the office, commuting, or business trips. Overall, a practical and sturdy backpack for everyday use. ... show more

  • Nice Bag But Useless Flapping Front Pocket With Poor Strap Placement
I've got a bit of a love/hate thing going with this backpack. It has a great appearance to it and would fit well into something being brought into an office environment. The faux leather on the front also adds a professional look to it. There is plenty of room in the back pocket for a large laptop, notepads, and a tablet or second device if you needed one. The main front pocket has a lot of space as well and another smaller zippered pocket with a clip on the inside to hold on to important things like keys. Overall it would probably be a decent bag for work, weekend getaways, or short trips where you didn't want to deal with managing a suitcase. The listing states that the bag is water resistant and that the zippers are protected against "light splashes". I read that to mean that while the material will resist water, it is not waterproof and that the zippers will allow water in if you get caught outside in a storm. That's not really unusual for most bags, but still important to understand. However, there are a few things about the bag that bother me. There are mesh pockets on both sides, which would hold a small 16-20oz water bottle or an umbrella, but I travel with a large 32oz squeeze bottle and I don't believe that would fit in either pocket. If it did, it would be really snug. The thing that really bothers me though is there is a pocket on the front of the bag that is secured with these really cool magnetic clips. The clips can be engaged or removed with one hand and they work really well, but there's just one problem. They serve no purpose other than to hold the pocket down and when disconnected the pocket can flap upwards for absolutely no apparent reason. Why not just sew the pocket into the bag and be done with it? Then the lower straps from that pocket are secured down near the mesh water bottle pockets and it looks like there could be some possibility of interference depending on how things are secured. Outside of some of those weird design choices it is still a good bag, but I believe the price is still a little too high for most people to get excited about. It's not a premium bag, but it is carrying a premium price tag. I paid about the same for my named brand backpack, which I've been using for about five years. My previous backpack was from the same company for the same price and lasted me ten years. ... show more

  • OK backpack with some interesting choices
I've had my current backpack for probably over 15 years, and I find myself picking up new ones then donating them or handing them off to friends and family because there's something that doesn't work for me on it. This backpack is no exception, but that isn't to say that it's not a good backpack. First off, the good - it's got a sleek look to it, and looks to be very water repellant. The bag almost has a leather look to it, making it seem like a more expensive bag. It's lightweight, well padded in the straps and back area, and is large enough for two devices - including a 17" laptop. The minuses - I hate the side mesh pockets. They're long enough so that you can use them for an umbrella, but putting a traditional-sized travel mug (mine is 3.31 inches in diameter) is *tight* and just makes it in. Additionally, the straps that attach to the top pocket (I'll get to that) sit right in the path to the mesh pockets, so any time you attempt to put something in the pocket, you'll struggle with both the size of the pocket and a buckle blocking your way. Then there's the top pocket. It's small - like it was just meant for a cell phone. But while it's attached to the top of the bag, the bottom is strapped to the buckles I mentioned earlier. Unstrap the buckles, and the pocket can completely flip over the top of the backpack. It just seems superfluous to have - the pocket could have easily been sewn down, eliminating the need for the straps, because they serve no other purpose - loosening them doesn't give any additional access to anything except under the pocket. There's no additional pocket or "drop in" area that those straps provide more access to. The bag lacks a handle as well; there's a small loop to hang the backpack on a hook that just fits a hand, but if you want to quickly pick up the bag to move it, you either have to grab a shoulder strap or take a moment to find the not-so-obvious loop. For me - it might work as an overnight bag, but it doesn't really work well as my go-to work bag. For a cheap pickup, I might consider it, but for the $70 list price as of the time of this review (marked down $20 with a "coupon"), there are far better options out there. ... show more

  • My big laptop finally has a home that doesn't feel like a gym bag
I bought this because my old bag was starting to sag under the weight of my macbook pro, and this one holds its shape even when I stuff it full. The padded compartment fits my mac and ipad pro snug with a little room to spare, so I'm not worried about it sliding around during the train ride to work. What surprised me was how light it feels once it's loaded up, probably because the straps spread the weight across my shoulders instead of digging in like a couple of ropes. the padding is incredibly nice and thick. The fabric has this slightly rugged texture and shrugged off a suprise rain shower last week without letting a drop through. Inside you get a mesh pocket and a key clip that I use for my building fob, plus two front pockets that swallow up my charger and a snack. For seventy bucks this is good value for the money, and on sale - it's an absolute steal. This looks polished enough that I wear it to work and it doesn't look like i'm trying to be in college. The zippers glide so smooth it almost feels espensive, which is a nice touch on something in this price range. Pros: - Roomy padded slot swallows a macbook and ipad pro with no issues - Stays upright and structured even when packed - Shrugged off rain better than I expected - Comfy straps make a heavy load feel manageable Cons: - The 7.9 inch depth means it sticks out a bit, but nothing terrible - Wish the front pockets were just a touch deeper for a bigger water bottle ... show more
