This device is more useful than the basic window hammers or belt cutters that are more commonly seen. When a device does a number of things, it often has to compromise but this gadget seems to keep the needed quality to still do a good job on its basic functions. The cutter blade seems sharp and still well-protected and the device has enough heft so the hammer should be useful if needed. In addition to these two basic safety functions, we have the magnetic pick-up tool, the screwdrivers, the flashlight, and alarm. The unit does not come with batteries so be sure to have two AAA batteries available. I'd recommend alkaline (non-rechargeable) since these have a long shelf life and will be more likely to still be working if needed sometime down the road. The batteries go positive end down (not the usual orientation) so note that as well. The flashlight works great and I love that there is also a mode to light the screwdriver work area. Just a week ago, I was doing a quick repair and managed to drop a nut into the engine. It took a bit of fumbling around to get it. The magnetic retriever (especially with the light) would have really been a big help! The screwdrivers are pretty long and work well. There is a trick to push the little plastic tabs (near the rubber grip ring) to release them from their stowed position. (another review shows a picture that I won't duplicate here.) It is actually a pretty nice locking system to keep the unused blades in place but it wasn't described. This combination of features is actually not bad to have around a car. Maybe because the holidays just went by, I'm thinking these would be great gifts, especially for teen and young adult drivers in the family. Maybe next year but I'm keeping this one in my own car!

This multitool is a new (hopefully) permanent addition to my car. It's quite sturdy and seems well-made. All pieces have some weight and seem to be made of good materials. Not flimsy at all. The screwdriver bits are easy to pop out and attach. The retractable magnetic pole is very powerful. It's able to pick up some quite heavy objects for its weight. The cutter seems sharp. I was able to slice through the plastic straps off of my TV box with ease. The hammer seems strong and hefty. The only reason I took off a star is because of the light. It requires 2 AAA batteries which are not included. That's fine. However, the light itself is not very powerful. I have a smaller flashlight in my car that has more lumens than this.

So I was excited to receive this and add it to my emergency kit. Breaking the window and cutting the seatbelt are obvious functions. After adding the batteries (not included), I tested out the main flashlight and then the smaller flashlight for the screwdriver. That's really neat! The other cool function was the retractable magnet and it's pretty darn strong. It lifted up my fairly hefty utility knife. The one thing I had trouble with was trying to release the screwdriver bits/ends. I kept pushing on them and pulling them. I really had no idea how to get them out. There were no included instructions, so I had to ask my dad for help. He couldn't figure it out at first, but after a while, he got one free. So the trick is that there is a part that you lift up lightly. If this product came with a sticker that said "Lift up" on the specific area, it would have been perfect. Anyway, now that I know how to use it, it's great, but there was definitely a struggle in figuring out how to get the screwdriver bits out. I actually did check the Amazon listing and they do provide instructions, but it would have been more effective with a labeled sticker or paper instructions for the product. Once the screwdriver bit is in place, it's fairly sturdy. Anyway, I still like this product and it's usefulness.

This is a handy little 6 in 1 car safety product. I really like that it can be used for so many things, especially the screwdriver part! I feel much better knowing it is in my vehicle when I drive out of town. The flashlight isn't the greatest, but that is the least of my worries. Great for the price!!

6 in 1 car safety hammer set has a lot of useful items on this set. 5 types of screwdrivers with a seat belt cutter in case of an emergency. With a window breaker that would help if needed to open up the window quickly. Small enough to travel with.

The media could not be loaded. This is a lifesaver at any price! Not only does it have a pointed hammer capable of breaking your car window in an emergency (and its extremely difficult to break a car window), it also has a seat belt cutter - absolutely essential if your seat belt release isn't working and you're in a life-threatening situation such as being underwater. Aside from the life-saving features, you have 5 different screwdrivers where the bits fit into a magnetized holding slot complete with switchable illumination to see what you're doing. Also has a telescopic magnetized extension perfect for picking up small screws, nuts, bolts or whatever you've dropped and is beyond your reach. Finally, its also a flashlight that runs on 2 AAA batteries (not included). A 'must have' item, especially at this price!
